Apparently you don't understand my viewpoint. They didn't expect to conceive, and now that they have they don't know what to do with it. They're stuck between getting an abortion and raising the child. An abortion is $300, raising a child till age 18 is roughly $600,000.

You're right it's not a car. You don't pay the entire $600,000 at once. Like I said, that's the approximated cost for raising a child from birth to age 18. The decision that needs to be made is not if they can afford a child right now, but if they can consistently afford it for those 18 years, as well as if they'll be responsible enough to support the child for almost 2 decades.
