Check my response to LF's post. That's the hardware needed for a set-up that's a lot better than average. Just know that hardware alone ain't gonna make your stuff sound pro. your recording habits are gonna be the biggest influence, and the environmental noise where ever you record is gonna be a factor too. Don't let this thread fool you man, the hardware is the easy part.

Oh yeah, basements are the home of echo with those nice concrete walls. Thatat's the type of environmental noise I'm talking about, because the same stuff that's lost in the mix on an unmixed set-up becoems REAL clear on a mixed one. 1
