Really...how can you come to This board and take Hip Hop seriously?

Theres too many egotistical kids on here

Ignorant beef between people-...kids beef about who beat who .. who got the best record...and why they werent listed on the "best emcee' list..bull shit

people who dick ride.....Niggas that get on aim talk for bout 5 minutes and be the best of friends and dick ride eachother on the board.niggas act like best friends on this shit its sad :/

People who associate your looks with skills..come on now.u know its sad when u and a nigga beefin...yall talkin about skills n shit then he bust out wit some "well you ugly"..
what does looks have to do with skills?

And really...to add...why not stop trying to be acknowledged by posting threads on Who's the best Text head/audio head best/looking and all that bull shit..

its dumb..kids just set it up so they names can get mentioned and when they arent mentioned they get mad.

Hip Hop is not what this board is :/
Hip Hop Is peace.

Hip Hop has definatly become a culture now that it is becoming more popular worldwide. To me its not just about if you got skillz or not, or if you can make the dopest beats for it or whutever...Its all about self-expression as an artist. About what you are feeling and how well you can express those feeling/emotions through rap. People that dont rap express those emotions by either fighting, crying, laughing or yelling...but if you can take all of that and put it into a track and let it all come out...thats whut its all about, ya know? to me anyways, payce...

^hip hop was always a culture... In fact, the oppossite has happened now that hip hop is more well known... People think what they hear on the radio is hip hop, when really its just shitty rap music... hip hop isnt just about music..

Man fuck idolisation... tupac was dope, but along he comes with the other gangsta rappers and create stereotypes of "coolness."

somebody please tell me whats so good about killing/beating people of your own race, robbing n' mugging, not having a decent income, and spending most of your adult life in prison?

^anybody who thinks THAT is hip hop should shut the fuck up... hip hop is the opposite, its peace.

i'm real with the whole hip hop shyt... that's why a lot of kats don't agree with a lot of the shyt i say about the lyrics being dropped in here... i been analyzing rhymes for years and i know a good rhyme when i see and hear one... kats be up in here yelling about nelly and kats like 50 like they lyrical... them kats ain't lyricists! there's a difference between a lyricist and a rapper-dude... lyricist take they time with they shyt... they think outside the box... they come original and ain't scared to take chances... they come with the complex styles and can usually drop about anything from partying to politics to hanging on the block or just being silly... rapper-dudes only know what the radio say is hot... ya nelly's and ya 50's... rapper-dudes only know how to rhyme about being hard or packing gats and selling drugs, fucking ho's, bling-blinging and pimpin out they rides... that's bullshyt rap and i don't cater to that shyt... how about a real message every now and then... KRS-One said it best... "Anybody can write rhymes about fame and glory/Writing something that'll wake up ya people's another story!" what's realer than that?!... then ya got the wannabe gangstas that ain't never been in a fistfight hollering about who they shot and how much weight they push just cuz they know people who do it... and wanna talk about they keeping it real? what's real is #1 I ain't never been in no gang and #2 i ain't never sold drugs or #3 shot nobody... how da fuck am i supposed to rhyme about some shyt like that and still say i'm keeping it real? .... Be real to yaself and stop all the fronting... real for me is making sure my family don't starve... being in the military and serving in iraq... half the kats claiming thug life wouldn't make it out here 1 week without bitching out... real for me is being a father to my kids and making sure they ain't gotta want for nothing... setting the example for them to live their lives by... dealing with the fact that my father just died and never got to meet his granddaughter... or that my mom was in an abusive relationship and still bears the scars emotionally from that shyt even though it was more than 1o years ago... i may not be a thug but i deal with real issues that the everday kat deals with and that's what i rhyme about... damn everything else... Be Real To Yaselves... keep hip hop rooted in its heritage... and stop listening and catering to bullshyt... and if ya boy is trash don't be afraid to say, "hey man, you sound like every other cat on the radio... or i know like 15 kats who wrote about that same shyt... or just be blunt and tell him his shyt was wack! if they really ya man 50 grand then they'll know you only looking out for them and trying to help them improve... if they brush you off fuck it...let them learn the hard way... and on another note... there might be a "stretched" line here in text... but if you can't here the flow and how a nigga spitting and flipping his shyt then you have no idea if it really is stretched or not... there's plenty of different styles out there and just cuz a brother shyt ain't the same length when he type it don't mean the shyt don't fit when he spit... and for the record... Gangsta Net rhymes... especially in text... ain't gangsta..werd... actually got a lot more i could say but i'll save some for later... i could talk about this shyt forever

one

i aint even gonna lie...i got hooked on hip hop with vanilla ice and mc hammer.....lol and im not ashamed.....everybody has to start somewhere........i used to listen to hip hop for the beat and all that and never really truly understanded what it stood for.....but now that i know what good lyrics are and what a true mc is.....i have turned to hate a lot of mainstream rappers and wonder why some of the true lyricists arent at the top.....then again there are a couple of mainstream artists who deserve to be there....but most of them dont.....its hard when you know that your lyrics are more true than what these fools are sayin on television....infesting these peoples minds with nonsense......all i can do is stay true and stay real.....im not a gangsta....so i can openly say that in a song....if your from the hood then u can talk about that....but if your not then dont....im not from there.....i spent about a year in the projects but hey....its not what i talk about when i rhyme......if some of these rappers were real then i could respect a few of them more.....but until then....i cant......i love hip hop....the only thing in my life that can compare to it is my family and basketball......those are my loves.....i take it very seriously
