Well technically you could... but it'd be reeeaaall hard to keep it in time and load all the samples.
Cool edit is just like... You have a whole lot of tracks and you can edit them all and change shit individually and then mix them down into a single sound file. If you're looking to make beats start off by getting fruity loops then when you got the basics down, move onto a more advanced beat maker...
