Yes, Ronaldo has been slept on & Zidane has had better years. I was quite surprised upon viewing the selection, actually.

what i used to do was play PES2 on 5 stars, in a league of world cup teams, id play as wales or someone like that, 5 minute matches, thats hard, my best win was like 3-0, on only 5 minutes you nearlly always get 0-0... a challenge though...

Ronaldo was slept on? Nah, he did well. But my point as he didn't deserve to be in top 5. Top four at least.
Doesn't matter if Zidane has had better years. It's just that other players have been better than him this year. Like Nedved, Henry and dare i say, Nistelrooy? Okay, take out the latter for arguments sake. Zidane playing very good in team full of world class players. Where he drifts in and out of games. More a showpony these days...(still class though..).. |

Though I loathe van Istelrooy, I was expecting to see his name raised a bit more in the argument(s) for player of the year. We get some terrible coverage in the States (unless we're willing to dole out incredible amounts of money) of both the Premiereship & League of Champs. This goes without mentioning the smaller divisions in Europe - so, I can't get my football fix that easily.

What is with the sudden knock on Ronaldo? He's still putting up some stellar numbers, even though his team did choke in the LOC.

League of Champions?!
Yeah, Ronaldo still has a lot no doubt. He's proved that here and there for Madrid and Brazil. Though it's hard to judge with so many class players around him. He has the ability to know when to strike the ball. His fitness is coming back. So who knows. Though i don't think he'd survive in the Premiership, so all Man Ure and Arse fans can put that dream to bed. But fgee, World Cup heroics? Er...you mean for France in 98'?! Cos otherwise.. Nistelrooy is a better out and out goalscorer than Henry. One could argue more complete striker than him because of that. Cos Nistelrooy has no real weakness. Whilst Henry does seem to miss chances others on his level would put away. Though he'll also do stuff other players on his level would struggle to do as much as him. US got this Eddie Johnson coming through. Was amused at an article claiming (and emphasising) him to be the 'first ghetto soccer player'. I know what they're trying to say...but come on. Anyway, what's happened to him? Was meant to be interesting the top clubs in Europe. Including MAn Utd. Oh, and Rooney has a LONG way to go. And so does that Crisitano Ronaldo. Way too much tricks without end product. |
