Hey is anyone else pissed at todays role models??? All the mainstream guys are fucking everything up... You know the other day, I was asking a friend of mine (who's hella into RAP... not hip hop) for some advice on one of my audios... And he said that I needed to make my lyrics SIMPLER... And that I needed more "color" ... after asking him, what the fuck? I found out he meant I needed to repeat stupid phrases about guns/clubs/hoes etc for simpler lyrics, and use a shitty gangsta beat for more, so called, "color".... If that what makes people happy these days, people are idiots...

i aint even gonna lie...i got hooked on hip hop with vanilla ice and mc hammer.....lol and im not ashamed.....everybody has to start somewhere........i used to listen to hip hop for the beat and all that and never really truly understanded what it stood for.....but now that i know what good lyrics are and what a true mc is.....i have turned to hate a lot of mainstream rappers and wonder why some of the true lyricists arent at the top.....then again there are a couple of mainstream artists who deserve to be there....but most of them dont.....its hard when you know that your lyrics are more true than what these fools are sayin on television....infesting these peoples minds with nonsense......all i can do is stay true and stay real.....im not a gangsta....so i can openly say that in a song....if your from the hood then u can talk about that....but if your not then dont....im not from there.....i spent about a year in the projects but hey....its not what i talk about when i rhyme......if some of these rappers were real then i could respect a few of them more.....but until then....i cant......i love hip hop....the only thing in my life that can compare to it is my family and basketball......those are my loves.....i take it very seriously

Word, I'm just amazed with the creative aspect of hip hop, and this is why I find myself writing in my books with instumental cd's running all the way through for hours on end. I've experienced many obstacles involving my music, such as a beef that damn near got me arrested, and the death of the guy who taught me how to rap. But as I look back on these times, they've only bettered me as an mc because I just have more creative ammunition to put on the page, and can actually make a good song out of it...

word...this is a dope thread. i think im pretty serious about this shit. im considering getting into sound engineering for a career and i will use rapping as a means of getting recognised in the music industry. in australia rap is pretty new so its not as hard here as it is in the U.S to get into the industry. i used to be a habitual dope smoker, borderline alcho and i would use chems from time to time aswell but hip hop has given me a reason to cut right back on all that shit. Hip Hop is my passion. everyday i get more caught up in the culture. i love rap and i love graffing i think its sumthin i'll be doing for a long time. 'the ultimate sacrifice in hip hop is to do it till u die.'

^^yeah, im feeling that.....im serious about this..hip-hop is what I am, shit...MUSIC is my life...from tha time i get up...till tha tyme I go to sleep...even when i dream...music is it...i love rappin and helpin othas make it....hip hop is how i keep myself together, i see myself with hip hop forever...but, i think that tha people on here thats really hype over records and rank dont take hip hop seriously.....they commercial, only in it for tha fame and glory....being able to help to keep hiphop alive and pure is glory in itself...
