stem cell research is NOT about selective traits of children...it's about researching taking cells and using them to regenerate other cells for people that are paralyZed, and researching to see if they can reverse some digenerative diseases like parkinson's and others as such...
personally, I don't see it as being GOD and yes, religioin HAS stopped a lot of scientific advancement, but for good reason, if people with the wrong motives got hold of permission to do research like this they'd be cloning kids and stuff like that... of course, there should be restrictions on this stuff...this stuff might not be happening in the U.S. but there are labs in Mexico that do stem cell research and will help paralyZed people with this kind of things... the best way to do stem cell research is likely the easiest way, stem cells are mainly found in cells that haven't been determined as what their specific use is, like cells inside of ambilocal (spelling) chords and amneotic fluid from new-borns...if the mother signs permission to give that to research there would be a lot more research going on and there wouldn't be any mis-haps about them cloning in order to GET stem cells and other cells...cuz really that's the only reason why scientists want to clone, is to actually GET the stem cells... and it's not playing GOD, if it was playing GOD then everything we know now already is playing GOD, like open-heart surgery and organ transplants...

Its a good thing, like in the second post someone said that it would help halt disabilitys and causes related to that. So all in all it is good, I mean its isnt doing anything to harm or disect normal traits is it?

okay....I forgot the scientists name who operates out of Seoul University but I am vaguely interested in this....I think its wrong to create your children the way you want them or even super soldiers because if naturee needed them they would be made already......If you want you child to be male well just screw alot and hope the quarter comes up heads, nah mean.....
Now I understand if you genticaly alter each child to ensure mental retardation might not occur but it still his a hint of immorality because common...everyone needs a CALI to laugh at...jp

Sure theres some dickheads in the past like kings who first took God's name and said that he talks to him all the time .... made up bullshit rules like have insest with your daughter/ or beastiality is cool ect ect. But For no reason does that mean that there isn't one whatsoever. Absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence. Thats like me saying just because theres some dumb fucks out there that ruins it for hiphop (i.e. G-unit for me) Doesnt mean that I hate hip hop straight up and down/ or that the essence of hiphop is none existent. I think in this case here which is the stem cell.. Its really hard to desipher wether or not these are just hollow bio-robots. If they aren't hollow, and it turns out that we have created a new way of giving birth to spirits other than through the whome of a female then its a totally different story because then they are just the same as you or I, only produced in a slightly different matter. But who knows, after all bush is the anti-christ....just think back to 1930s when Hitler was trying to create the perfect race, killing off the "weak". Here we have the same scenario, but instead of killing, anti-christ mass produces bio-enginered killing machines.

ya'll are not understanding the point of stem cell research...it is NOT to selectively choose your child's traits, it's to see if basic human cells that are regenerated can be used to prevent digenerative diseases and cure some others...please be aware ofwhat things ARE before you agree OR disagree with them...
