that would 1-2" for each side of the case, making the screen 44-46" across the bottom meaning that it wud still theoretically be 50" diagonally

the error in this is that it's a diagonal measurement which is contained within a box that is being considered a 4by4 square and measured left to right.

In reality, on both sides left and right, it's about a foot altogether, and from top to bottom we're talking a loss of about 2 inches.

Now I don't know the perfect dimensions of it, but in order to predict the measurement of the screen you have to measure the screen itself, you can't just go on the size of the case and then follow that with assumptions, because that leads to the very possibly incorrect prediction that the screen is larger than 48 inches diagonally, just because from case end to case end it's 48 inches across.

It could very well turn out to be 42 inches in size, because of the all-around 16 inch loss between the case and the measured screen corners.
