he does kinda sound like a battler on "I Honor U" but still, if u listen to "What's Going On?" there aint no way he sounds like a battler. people just hate on him cuz he got knowledge. knowledge is power, especially at this time in the rap game. ~oNe

All i know is that if i here Jay-Z rapeing anymore of Biggies or Pacs songs im seriously gonna shit.....

Bonnie and Clyde was so gay and proved his biting
along with that other song " .....Callin me Jay-Z.. Jay-Z"
another bite off Biggie

Ja rule, Nelly, 50-cent ( he has a tight style just his lyrics are basic)
basically every mainstream swimmer with the exception of a varied few

How can you all say 50 is overrated? Nobody is claiming he is
the dopest lyricist... but he is the dopest shit out right now.
The only way he could be overated is if people were saying he
was the dopest lyricist, and had the hottest flow. Nobody is
saying that tho..

This is more so of an observation of what people are into and not, simply cause a few a cats have said that Canibus and Aesop Rock are overrated. You can draw a fine line between that assuption based on how you interpret the music they produce. They use their words more consciecely and make a much harder response to the listener, if one chooses to actually listen. On the other hand there is the other majority that does not care to go indepth and just make quick assumptions on the song, those are the people that hate this form of hip-hop.

50 Cent is overrated due to his comparisions as mentioned by Rtikulate, not to mention that I have an even harder time decyphering what the hell he is talking about with all the mumbling.

Fat Joe, not as popular as before, but did not have a great deal of lyrical talent. He is sort of based along side of Ja Rule with the singy songy type of vibe, something that has no real general meaning behind it, yet it sells, quite good might I add. Thus why the two are overrated.

Nelly is another form of the two previously mentioned, this cat has no real lyrical talent and has tons of songs with no general meaning behind them, again his albums sells tons of copies.

Jay-Z was once good, but has fallen off that track due to the mainstream's view and how he can profit off of it. Reasonable Doubt has to be the shining moment in his career, afterwards was a straight downfall. Another artist that was good, probably could have been held in the same breath of Big's shadow, no pun intended, but now has proven to show that he has no real talent to match that magnitude, again no pun.

Fabulous, I mean the cat does have nice breath control and can ride the beat good. To carry this cats name in the same sentence as "...and has dope ass lyrics." still foundles my nerves. I mean the lyrics are pretty lame that even my nephew can come up with better lines, but the lack of riding on a beat keeps him unsigned(lol), Eminem, is not overrated, he's still in neutral if you ask me. I mean he is sort of in the same boat as Canibus is, just not multi-dimensional. He has given us a nice album in both the "Slim Shady LP" and "Marshal Mathers", I think that the previous albums were rushed and hider his accolade nowadays.

I don't think that Canibus is wack, it's just the fact that he is moreso one dimensional. If he is looking to gain respect and album sells he needs to expand. Working along side Jedi Mind Tricks is a good step in that path.

Simply because a cat sells fifty gagillion copies of their album in the first hour of sells doesn't mean that they are going to be the hottest thing out there. They may have the business frame working, but they are far from being one of the best in the game when it comes down to what the original art of hip-hop was...creativity and fun.

love...
