umm no, you're thinking the nationwide vote. the popular vote is a poll of peoples opinions before the election takes place, in which case bush was at 46%. He's now 10% lower than that with an approval rating THE LOWEST PRESIDENTIAL APPROVAL RATE IN HISTORY at 36% in the popular polls.

67% of the country dosent' agree with this man, what's that tell you? And 72% DISAGREE with the war in iraq.

Hades, our economy is against the ropes man, Bush DOUBLED our trillian-dollar deficit (at what 76trillion now?) since he came into office.

That means we're in twice as much debt as a nation than we were before he came into office.

wars aren't cheap son. specially when you have to bury thousands of dead bodies and pay those families.

popular polls don't show states. They show opinions of approval.

I'm sure I odn't need graphs and what not to illustrate

Semantics...the word "popular" and "nationwide" as you're saying is interchangeable...When you watch news coverage of the election, they refer to those % as the "popular" vote.

nah man, that's an electoral vote. That's nothing liek a popular vote. popular votes are taken all the time, that's how you find out an approval rating. That's a huge difference from an Electoral vote.

That 51 in that chart refers to the percentage he got from people who voted. Check the figures man...If you take Bush's percentage of the electoral votes he won, it equates to about 53%. On the other hand, if you take a percentage of the amount of people who voted for him of all the voters, it equals 51%.

In the electoral votes, that's not popular polls. It states right on the chart that it's the electoral vote. Bush lost the popular polls, which once again isnt the electoral vote.

Electoral = The vote your state says it generally cast
Popular = the OPINONS of the people voting. For example, a popular vote could have say.. "6% Undecided", where as the electoral vote could not possibly have a vote for "Undecided" since that's not a candidate.

No president EVER won the electoral vote and lost the popular vote except Bush.

Twice.

They're not the same thing.

The United States is never going to go into Iran without help. And, with that being said, being that nobody supports us in Iraq right now, what will end up happening is this; we'll declare ourselves the winner of the war then just fucking leave. Lmao. We all know it's true. Bush fucking owned himself when he said their were WMDs in Iraq. If you're going to make a claim like that, and lead a whole country into war you better be fucking right. I still support Bush, but he's making some big mistakes.

But, to whoever brought up the percentage of the population of America who can read. . it is getting higher everyday; their called illegal aliens, dude.

Bro, the Popular vote is the actual number of VOTES, not opinions, cast by the people during the election. It is possible for someone to win the popular vote, but still lose the electoral college because key states with MORE electoral votes went to the other candidate.

The 51% represents the popular vote bro. You're mistaken on this one. If you don't believe me, we can take this to a college professor or Poli-Sci major to settle it. But, I do believe I'm correct on this one.

Nah man, I'm tellin you, the popular vote and the electoral vote are completely seperate. Bush won 51% of the electoral vote (what your chart illustrates) but lost the popular vote (what yor chart does NOT illustrate).

We don't have to take it to what ever profesors or what ever though, just read this:
Quote:
Every four years, on the Tuesday following the first Monday of November, millions of U.S. citizens go to local voting booths to elect, among other officials, the next president and vice president of their country. But the results of the popular vote are not guaranteed to stand because the Electoral College has not cast its vote.

It may surprise you to know that Russia has a more direct presidential election process than the United States. In the United States, a system called the Electoral College periodically allows a candidate who receives fewer popular votes to win an election. In fact, there have been several presidential candidates who won the popular vote, but lost the election because they received fewer electoral votes. In Russia, where no such system exists, the candidate who receives a majority of popular votes wins the election.

see how they're seperate? Bush lost the popular vote with 46% but won the Electoral college vote with 51%.

Popular Vote = people voting at centers
Electoral = states vote for the people.

completely seperate

only the electoral votes get counted so Bush won, yet that's not who the people chose, so hows that add up?
