I'm not quite sure......I think I just got lucky with mine. I have a Compaq. I think the best thing for you to do is to go into a music shop and ask them the same question. Be completly honest with them so they don't try to sell you the most expensive shit.....tell them you are starting out and want to know what computers are best to record music on....I think they should steer you in the right direction

It doesnt matter what kind of comp you use.... just get a nice size hard drive - 80 Gigs or better... get an upgraded sound card, and try and get somethin in the 2.2-3.0 ghz range with a nice bus speed. good Speakers and audio editing programs come for any platform computer so ur mac could probly work just fine as long as it aint 2-3 years old already, and even if it is it'll probly still work- u just might get alot of dropouts.

No.. Apple are the best audio computers.. they come with the best audio cards and shit.. all the big producers use a mac laptop.. apple copmputer are the best for making music.. all the sales on audio equipment comes with mac (for mini studios)... on the reall if u want a cpu, buy a apple audio computer.. search around.. they not to expensive.. like 900 or something i think... ne computer will do.. but when it comes to stability, Apples are smashin PC's.. even tho i have a pc.. im savinup for a apple to complete my studio.. that and a soundproved room -_-
