I've seen a fair few of these types of things. Believe it or not, a lot have come from the concept of Fight Club.

Most fail. Some survive. Few left make some waves. But not what they set out to achieve. Still, they do their part. While there is the odd one which'll take a life of it's own. But usually become something more 'darker' or 'rigid' than it set out to be. It's motives corrupted or diverted into something else. Sometimes keeping in touch with it's original 'manifesto', but not quite enough to do it 'proud'. Though then again, that depends on your perception and all that.

Oh, and believe it or not, the amount of ones inspired by Fight Club don't fail as dis-proportionalty as one may think.
