Im sick of hearing my little bro talking to me about what he learnt in school and its all irelevant,200 year old bullshit. Hes like "when they found tutankamans mummy they found jemels with it."
Its a joke, even our leaders still refer and set dates to celebrate the oldest shit.

Lets see our generation living for now celebrating now and not having a fucking day off work,school and out of our lifes,to remember those who died in a fucking war that mearly concerned my grandfather (god rest his soul) didnt involve or concern my ma or dad(god rest there souls) and definitly is not relevant to anything TODAY!

Umm nah it is relevant to today.

For example, what if america lost the war. we'd all be speaking czechaslavakian or some shit.

And they make days and shit like that so we remember. For example, you were alive when 9-11 happened right? Its fuckin tragic. It was a huge loss, so they have a memorial on 9-11 now every year.

It would be stupid for a huge thing like that to happen and then they just go "shit.. that fuckin sucked... oh well." and never give it a second thought.

Anyway I agree with what you said. But history is important. But then again everyone talks about the past when we should be focusing on today.

History is what defines human beings as a civilisation.

Theres no point in being part of history if your too ignorant to understand it. I agree that schools are pointless though.. And thats to do with the real purpose they serve.

But thats a whole new area of discussion...

yeh I aint saying , dont learn from YOUR past mistakes and the mistakes of others. But I see alot odf our elders dwelling on it and leting it get them down, sheeding tears about the oldest of bullshit,when right in front of them is a man killing his son ont he notorway then stopping his car and launching onfront of a truck.

There is ALOT to learn from the past,but there is a limit on how much you sit around dwelling,celebrating,contemplating,mis guiding kids and allround not letting certain issues rest.
IE americas slavery movement, IE, hitlers nazi movement. IE europoeans stealing land from moaris in Aotearoa.

Thing is we need to respect what elders done for us...

A week ago, we had a school trip to a concentration camp and when we entered the place where many were executed there was a sign: enter this area with respect because these people died for your freedom. Made me feel little.

I agree that we don't have to live in the past but we should speak about it with respect because it defined the lives we live now in a way. We need to live in the present but find a place to put history in the overall picture.
