How Do I Set My Mic!

Ok, i have cool edit and i'm tryin to record but my mic won't work. it's plugged in and shit. do i have to set it onto something? like change some settings?

Go to Options on your Cool Edit.....it's at the top. Go down to Windows Recording Mixer or something like that. It should bring up a pop up with a bunch of different channels, one of which being a mic. Make sure that is the one selected and the level is above "0". If this does not work, try to use each other channel in that same Windows Recording Mixer, cause I remember about a year ago when Ike had just started and his mic, for some odd reason, only worked on a different input channel. Hope this helps
