Total darkness except for the miniscule ray of light between the cracks of the beautiful box.
I lay within and counted from 10 as I waited for my friends to return.
A giggling 10.
A louder 9.
An even louder 8.
A quietly said 7.
Building up my voice for 6.
A strongly said 5.
A teasing 4.
A proud and loud 3.
A bigger 2.
An even louder 1.
A screamed 0.
Darkness.
The cracking of my knuckle hitting the inside of the box broke the silence.
I shifted until I was on my back and lifted both hands so they rested on the top of the box.
The scraping of the box against the asphalt ground caused a scratching noise terrified me until I realized I was the cause of it.
I pressed hard as I possibly could, until my hands floated from all the pressure I placed upon them.
The lid wouldn't budge.
Trapped.
What the fuck is going on here!!I screamed.
And then the box answered.
Don't listen.
Ignore it.
I told myself over and over again.
Just concentrate on the light.
But of course I couldn't.
I listened.
Listened.
And Listened some more.
The box continued non-stop.
Not a moment was silent, but words were never spoken.
The fear that I feared to fear was within me.
No, I told myself.
Don't give in.
You're glowing.
Darkness.
You're glowing, I told myself.
My only answer was darkness.
Don't Listen I told myself again.
Don't listen.
You can't listen.
And then they came.
They wouldn't leave.
They showed me things I didn't want to see.
They made me see things I tried to hide.
They were there, and I couldn't get them to go away.
Please go I said with fear.
Never.
You're going to die tonight.
Just fuckin go!!
Leave me alone.
Only darkness now...no light.
I can feel them around me now.
Taking me away.
Help me someone.
Just help me.
Someone once told me that Jesus is there when nobody else is.
"Jesus Loves me. This I know. Because The Bible tells me so..."
I sang over and over again.
They didn't like that.
They only got louder.
I couldn't hear myself anymore.
I just mouthed the words for what seemed like an eternity.
Then they stopped.
And it was silent.
Too silent.
I could hear my ragged breathing.
I couldn't control myself anymore.
I was blinded by the tears falling. I can't fight anymore.
I give up.
Then my heart says no.
My heart says to never give up.
Don't give up on me.
I Don't give up on you.
I yelled and screamed and kicked and wiggled in the box, but it wouldn't open.
I repeated this vicious cycle for as long as I could remember.
And then I saw the light.
I saw the light.
I said God help me, Please, don't let me die.
I said Dieu m'aident. S'il vous plait, ne me laissex pas mourmir.
I said El dios me ayuda. Por favor, no me dehe morir.
I said HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
My voice echoed.
And then I heard nothing.
No voices.
No noises.
Not even me.
And then I saw the light.
And My life was over or was it beginning

wow, this is one of the most creative poems i've read in this forum, beautifully set up and carried out, great imagery and words, very storylike, this might sound weird to you, but this poem screams spoken word to me, if there was a beat behind it, and someone spit it, this would be amazing, and powerful...keep droppin..1
