I dont get it, how do you make money off these sites, other than the advertising.

It depends on who the audience is. With forums, usually selling advertising is pretty big. Some sites also make money though affiliate programs, but with affiliate programs people have to buy for you to get the commission. How many of you people here have credit cards? So with a rap forum, best bet would be advertising. Assuming the mixtape idea is a success, we could also sell advertising on that and give out hundreds or thousands of free cds.
