aight...sum of the producers prolly know bout this n others might discourage it......but for those who don't care or jus startin out, here's a good secret for findin melodies and hooks if u got sum the time.

go to Google and type what u lookin for followed by 'MIDI'.

ex: carnival music midi

u can load MIDI's straight into fruityloops. i recommend u copy the sections of the melody u want to work with right out of the piano roll and then open a new track and paste the copied section into it. The reason is that many midi files can come with hidden instructions like resetting the tempo to a specific rate every time u play the track n it's hard to get rid of these instructions. Copying just the note sequence to a new track will solve this problem.

There are thousands, if not millions of MIDI files available on the net for free downloadin n it's a great way to get classical string riff's n such. when u find MIDI links, just right-click and save target as.

what's wrong with midi? i've found plenty of note sequences lookin through midi files.

you can find a lot of good quality midi that ain't ringtones n shit, many of em have been played in by a professional musician, therefore the only difference between it and audio is the quality of the instrument sound. but if you got sum decent sound font's or instruments sets then you can get it pretty close to soundin like a live recordin.

check my: 'street killerz' for example.
