My mind's eye extends its hand and captures the shards of the falling glass
collects and recreates the vivid vision, of my masterpiece at last Shattered seams holding this perfect harmony together, this ultimate artpiece I shall create it, before it slips away as a fox under the darkness of night's crease My paint merely a dirty window, a mere cameo of the uncomprehensible reality of this art I seek to create, my Frankenstein that has battered me None can see that humanity is art at its most pure and pristine example an indetermindible amount of beauty, not understood but merely sampled A visage often dilluded and destroyed, impossible to truly capture.. ..well until I bestow the world with a glory and awe akin to God's rapture No one can understand the great journey I undertake, no one at all MY wife craves my presence in our bed, yet my eyelids simply can not fall My daughter wants me to play games with her but how could that be? Does she not understand the gracious gift I will grant to humanity Their eyes will open and minds will no longer doubt the purpose of life Wards will halt, swords will drop, bitter enemies will be husband and wife I can change it all if I only could express these ideas physically Translate my words to the common language without loosing the true meaning I must! This is God's work... no... no my Work must be God Captured by me, a mere mortal will reveal his omnipotency to all! Yet, they still call, Can't they understand anything beyond their trifles? I pace back and forth, each word a sharp stab from the bayonet of their rifle I can't get their words out of my head, "come to dinner", clouding my thoughts I close the door in their faces, let them keep that food for though? Work meticulousy, each stroke slowl, deliberate, measured and calculated God's essence pours out my soul through my finger tips unto the painting My joy is hardly concealable, muscles push my lips to my cheeks could it be after a year of frustration, my work may be complete? No its not finished, somethings missing, how can this fall apart? It put me through a year of hell, now I put my foot through my art I can hear them goading and laughing, their pleasure at my dismay poking and proding me for my failures, claiming i've lost my way "I should have listened" I've heard it and doubtless I will again From my wife and my childrem, my works scared off any friends Their gloating eyes are visible to me, My fitst clench in a ball As i destroy my work in a rage, I see how it can be complete afterall The Work is complete A faint mutter, inaudible, it provides the perfect ambience swen shut, so his humanity can't escape, his soul cant be lost the blood, a perfect crimson paint, dried with an unusual texture DOubtless the professors will readily invite me to deliver a sterling lecture No, rather than kill, he's my prize, the crucifix to my wall Hanging by a nail and his hands, his humanity on display to all I'll keep him alive, he needs to, mankind will worship at its feet It took the son of man for my masterpiece to finally be complete
