Pretty ehh weak this week, no one dropped greatly and a lot of battles sort of disappointed. Quite a few no-shows as well, but the people who did no-show were people with shite records which makes way for dopeness to come in next week. Check the sign in’s we had for the coming week:

So yeah, shit’s looking doooope for next week. I’m gonna try my best to get these people to show before Mimesis and Daubs take over for a couple of weeks. The week I leave is the week the PPV starts also.

Two Week Holiday

As of this Saturday coming I shall be going to America for a couple of weeks. In my absence I have appointed Mimesis and Daubs to run the league for those weeks, and I am sure they will do a good job. Mimesis ran the PLL for ages so he knows how to do things right and Daubs seems trusting and the on time type lol so he’ll be fine as well. I’ll see ya in a couple of weeks in which case I hope the league will be twice as dope, and I’m sure with Daubs and Mimesis running it shit will be.

Ok first and foremost I’d like to thank y’all for reading Kempo’s mag as he gets much less credit than he deserves for the effort he puts into the league. To write a mag every week, set up battles and then go around other sites recruiting new talent into the league in between college an working part time jobs takes a fuckload of commitment, so bow down to him. Where do I come into this?. I’m here to add my analysis and thoughts on the general state of the league, so shut up and listen.

This week was mostly weak, there was a few nice lines here and there but for the most part it was below par. Mimesis dropped alright but not as good as usual, and to have 3 quotables in a 20+ line battle is pretty average. Untold has improved recently but didn’t show it this week. He had two nice lines including his dope Dublin back punch, but came fairly inconsistent on his wording. JTR didn’t bring the fire against Chrit like he promised and in turn Chit beat him pretty easily. Nick Fletcher came decent but had waaaay too many nameplays. And the thing which pisses me off about him is that he’ll have a real hard punch one line and follow up with something shockingly gay.

Mets dropped the best verse of the week. He had 12 lines and had like 3 quotables in it and came damn consistent. His opponent got crushed and dropped a below par verse. I can’t be fucked reviewing more battles cause Kempo already did it but I’ll say this. Why the fuck are all these ‘legendary’ heads coming in the league and half assing just to pick up easy wins? Truly dope heads drop ill all the time, just to show everyone how good they are. Cats like Fracture and Resin dropped to entertain and humiliate their opponents every battle, whether they were battling dope heads like Butler and Relentless Fists or some random nobodies like MC Whoodaman_1999. Why should any of you be different? Stop saying ‘oh but you know what I can do’ and fucking show us. Prove you are that damn good, and not just an arrogant cunt who has taken to arse banging their own legend.

As to next week we have heads like Hensely and Roger Glocks signing in which will boost the profile of the league. Whether they drop the fire we know they’re capable of or half ass is up to them, lets hope it’s the former. I wanted to battle Glocks but Kempo insists on giving me Fuxjustaword *sigh*. Next week is the special event so there’ll be some bare sexy action in that guaranteed. It’s me vs So Rell in an England vs America matchup which will be pretty sick. The biggest battle next week is Chrit vs Mimesis. The two have history and the battle should be a fest of personals and dopeness. Drop some fucking fire yo. Battle Reviews

LBL Championship Match: 1. Mimesis (7-0) vs 2. Met-A-4 (3-0)

This was a pretty decent battle, not a fuck load of quotables from them but a reasonable amount. Met-A dropped first and came ok, had a couple of quotables that are in the top punches but he was too inconsistent. I think the line limit hurt him as he tends to come better with less lines it seems. I liked the Dublin bar, that was fresh along with the sparkle in your eye bar, that was dope imagery. The rest was either alright or not good. Mimesis had the props on same shit bar, the mimic bar and the apostrophe line. They were enough to take this for him. He won 7-0.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Chrit (2-0) vs 4. JTR (5-1)

This was ok, but Chrit got it pretty easily. JTR had the pimple line which was good, yet everyone seemed to be quoting the LBL bar. If you took the L off the end of LBL, it’d leave you with LB. So it made no sense really. Chrit had the bowl line, handicap line and whiskey bars. More than enough to take this. Voting was pretty close though, yet Chrit won 4-3 in the end.

5. Rush Lingo (4-3) vs 6. Chris Stylez (3-4)

Rush got this easy. Chris dropped way too many lines for his skill level and it cost him bad, he didn’t really have one bar that I could pick out as liking. And the 4 line style that he did at the start was mad weird. Rush came a lot better, his verse was pretty damn good actually. The first part it was much better than the second part though, so keep that in mind Rush. Chris Cross bar was good, sunvisor was pretty dope and the league was active bar was cool, simple but hit hard. Rush got this easy and would have won if he’d of voted. So Stylez wins.

7. Nick Fletcher (3-2) vs 8. R-Rated (3-1)

Fletcher posted first and used a pic of R-Rated’s, so R-Rated got pissed and asked for a pic of Nick Fletcher but Fletcher didn’t post one so R-Rated no-showed and lost. Some people are saying that posting a pic without providing one is a bitch move, and while in a way it sorta is, if you’ve got your pic on the internet then it’s fair game for anyone to use it. It’s basically like saying something stupid as fuck in a thread that can then be played off by your opponent, just cos they don’t say stupid as fuck things doesn’t mean that they can’t use you saying stupid as fuck things to play off. But yeah, Fletcher won due to R-Rated no-showing.

9. Precize (3-2) vs 10. Daubs (4-3)

Precize no-showed. Daubs won.

11. K.ontroverz.Y (1-4) vs 12. Danjure S. Writer (2-4) vs 13. So Rell (4-2)

Kon and Danjure no-showed, So Rell won.

Double no-show.

16. Apotheoprophet (0-1) vs 17. Jae Brix (2-2)

Apo no-showed, Jae Brix won.

18. Mets (0-0) vs 19. Wicked One (0-0)

This was a smashing. Mets came nice with some hot bars and good consistency. Wicked One didn’t really bring anything, people were quoting the rubber bar but it wasn’t anything special. Mets had a few quotables, TNA bar was nice, competition bar was simple but hit hard and the poll bar was dope. Mets would have won this 10-0 but he didn’t vote and neither did Wicked One, so they both lost.

Predictions

1. Mimesis (8-0) vs 2. Chrit (3-0)

This should be a very good battle. I hope it’s quite a long line one though as Chrit seems to be going short lengths lately, so lets hope it goes at least 20 lines. This is quite hard to predict as Chrit can be really dope when he wants to be, yet he hasn’t dropped brilliantly in this league yet. Where as Mimesis has come dope for the 8 weeks that he’s been in the league, so he has the momentum and everything. For that, I’m gonna go with Mimesis although it could go either way.

3. Chris Stylez (4-4) vs 4. Nick Fletcher (4-2)

Murder. Chris Stylez is only here cos Rush didn’t vote and he will never get any higher than this unless the same happens again. Hell, he won’t be in the top 10 for ages after this battle unless he promptly elevates. Nick Fletcher will win this easy as he’s been dropping nice for a while now.

5. Daubs (5-3) vs 6. So Rell (5-2)

This should be pretty decent. Rell can come creative but he recycles a lot and his style is too lets say, namby pamby at times. He has creative concepts but the wording is done so it barely hits the opponent a lot of the time. Daubs has a tighter style and is usually more consistent, so I’m gonna go with him for this.

7. Jae Brix (3-2) vs 8. Met-A-4 (3-1)

Met-A-4 just came off a pretty harsh loss against Mimesis but he dropped pretty nice. Jae Brix has potential but he ain’t at Met-A’s level yet. Met-A should sweep this.

9. JTR (5-2) vs 10. Rush Lingo (4-4)

The battle of the “I’ve fucked up many a time because I haven’t voted” lol. Both could be in such different positions right now if they’d of voted at crucial times, JTR could be champ ffs. But they haven’t, so here they are. JTR dropped okish last week, nothing dope though like he’s capable of. Where as Rush dropped pretty nice, yet some people thought his verse was awful which was far from the truth. I dunno, I think JTR is more consistent though and RV likes his style etc more, so JTR to win but it should be a good battle.

11. Wicked One (0-1) vs 12. John Hensley (0-0)

Wicked One didn’t drop great against Mets last week and he got flawlessed, and Hensley has flawlessed Mets many a time. So Hensley will take this and then move into the contender match then the champ match then possibly take the title. He’s dope, that’s all there is to it.

13. Gopha (0-0) vs 14. Pro (0-0)

I ain’t a clue about either of these people. Gopha seems to be at a lot of boards though, so he should show. I don’t think Pro will show though. So Gopha to win.

15. shake-zula (0-0) vs 16. Dinger (0-0)

Shake’s dope. Dinger is signing up at a lot of boards lately but it seems like he’s a newb. Whatever he is though, Shake will win this.

17. Pharoahe Def (0-0) vs 18. ILL Fated (0-0)

I dunno ILL Fated but I know Pharoahe Def. He was an ex-WBL champ, the last in fact, and he beat John Hensley to win that title. He was 9-0 in the HBL and at one point he was champ of WBL, champ of HBL and in the champ match of the RBL. So yeah, he’s dope, he’s had a break and he’ll be hungry for this now.

19. SPuL (0-0) vs 20. pictureperfect2 (0-0)

Never heard of picture perfect but SPuL is nice obviously. SPuL to win by a lot.

21. Erel Avent (0-0) vs 22. +Glitch+ (0-0)

Erel Avent is another who went 9-0 in the HBL. Glitch has plus signs in his name, that says it all. Erel to win.

23. N.Tavarez (0-0) vs 24. T.r.oo.P (0-0)

I dunno Troop but he seems to have been around a bit on RV, yet so has Tavarez and he’s better. Tavarez will get this by a lot also.

25. Appocolyptik (0-0) vs 26. TeamOne (0-0)

I believe that TeamOne is FuxJusAWord who got quite far in the last KORV, yet Appocolyptik is nice. He’s young yet he’s pretty much considered as dope on here and RB. He’ll win this.

27. Roger Glocks (0-0) vs 28. Raw King (0-0)

Raw King seems super newby where as Glocks is in the Champ match of the PRBA this week against Butler. Roger Glocks to win.

29. Meta Syn (0-0) vs 30. Monsieur (0-0)

I believe I’ve read a Meta Syn verse before and he’s nice, I think he’s been in the PRBA. Fuck knows who Monsieur is, he’ll no show. Meta Syn to win.

31. Da Sein (0-0) vs 32. Tim (0-0)

I think Tim is predominantly a topical head so I dunno how he’ll do in this. Sein is pretty decent, he’s got his style down on lock as he’s been battling for quite a while. Sein should win this.

33. Defiance (0-0) vs 34. Binary I (0-0)

I haven’t read a Binary I verse for a while and what I have read was okish. Defiance is the same really, but he has a style that may not appeal to RV and he is mad inconsistent. This is a toss up, but I’m gonna go with Defiance.

Power Rankings

18. Rush Lingo – He dropped very nice last week, yet he can be hella inconsistent. I hope he’s got out of his creativity rut that he was in and starts dropping how he used to.

17. Da Sein – Definitely not one to sleep on as he can be creative, yet he isn’t all out dope. He can be nice at times though, so he’s one to watch.

16. So Rell – I’ve covered what I think of his style earlier, but he’s still nice and the fact he went 4-0 shows that he is.

15. Met-A-4 – Tumbled down the power rankings after his loss to Mimesis, yet he can still do damage in this league. He’ll have to really try though cos the quality of people that will soon be in the top 10 is looking very good, and if he slacks he’ll move down quite a bit.

14. Daubs – The fact that he could well be in the contender match next week shows how packed with talent this league is at the moment. He’s nice, but he’s still elevating by the week as he hasn’t been doing this for all that long. Could possibly be in the champ match in a couple of weeks.

13. Meta Syn – From what I remember this dude is very nice. That’s only from what I think I remember though, it’s not a dead certainty that he is. But I’ve been told by Mets I think it was that he is nice, so I’m sure he is.

12. N.Tavarez – Re-entering the league and it seems like he’s gonna try now. He’ll have to as well cos there are a lot of nice heads in this league now. Should do well though, as he has a style that is well liked here.

11. JTR – His momentum got crushed last week by losing to Chrit, but he should be coming up again in the coming weeks.

10. Appocolyptik – He’s ready to start winning a lot of battles it seems. He’s nice with it really and if he’s motivated, which it seems he is, then he will definitely be up there.

9. Roger Glocks – Definitely one to watch over the next coming 4 months or so, as he’s still reasonably new to this. He won a newbie tournament in September, and has only been around since April/May time last year. He’ll be a contender definitely.

8. SPuL – He won the 64 man KORV3 tournament, that says enough really. RV is his home site and as long as he tries he’ll do well in his second entry into the league.

7. Erel Avent – Another who regularly champs other sites. He has a nice, short, prompt style that should appeal to all so he has that as a big pro. Will definitely do well.

6. Pharoahe Def – I’ve already covered his accolades in the prediction section, so I won’t dwell on them more. But as long as he shows up he’ll be smashing heads definitely.

5. shake-zula – Multi time WBL and PRBA champ as well as RBL champ way back I believe. Dude’s nice and he’ll make a big impact in this league, no doubt about it.

4. John Hensley – Everyone knows the dude. He gets people pretending to be him weekly. That alone shows you how good he is. He’ll be the champ of this league soon, I have no doubt about that, as long as he shows up and votes.

3. Nick Fletcher – Will be in the champ match next week no doubt. How he’ll do against Mimesis or Chrit will hang in the balance, but he’ll definitely be in that champ match as long as he shows and votes.

2. Chrit – Got to the champ match with ease but he’s got a hard battle this week against Mimesis. Will be interesting to see how he does against Mimesis, cos his opponents have seemed to sorta not drop as well as they can against him.

1. Mimesis – Of course he’s number 1. He didn’t drop amazingly last week, with only 3 quotables lol, but he dropped nice and beat Met-A-4 easily. He’s got Chrit this week which should be a good battle, it’ll be his first big big challenge for a while and let’s see how he does against him.

The league is looking doooope for the last week that I am running it for a couple of weeks, so thinks should look even better when I get back from my holiday. The fact that the power rankings has 18 people in it shows how nice the league is looking. So yeah, I’ll be on holiday as of the Saturday coming in which case Daubs and Mimesis shall be taking over the league. I’ve already covered that though so I won’t go over it more. Props to Appocolyptik for the nice article, if anyone else wants to do a column of some sort then just PM it to me before I put the mag up and I will put it in. The special event is next week also, I named it Rising To The Top. It should be good but we still need more battles, if you’re interested just drop a post in this thread with your opponents consent and I shall book it for next week.
