"Clove Streets Finest"

IP: 5181 225A

heres a simple piece i used quite a while back in a topical battle. the topic: heroes.

"CLOVE STREETS FINEST"

Romey was the homie that lived around the corner on Clove Street...
He'd help old women with their grocery and was never known to beef
Whenever i peeped his report cards...the lowest grades seen were B's
In the times that i felt hopeless...the homie showed me i was worthy

He broke 2 records in track and was crowned state champ @ The Emporium
He graduated a year early.......and was appointed class valedictorian
My pal "the adolescent with wisdom" was easily accepted into Princeton
Visions of lifting his family from their current conditions kept him driven

When he wasnt going to work on grave...he was doing homework all day
Saved up for a NY vacation...only then...to send his family in his place
They couldnt make the trip during winter, so he set it up before November
When they went there...they perished...on that 11th day of September

Not only was this intense but he had to defend against arrogance & spit
He was unprepared for the hits...did i mention he was of arabic descent?
So Romey left school and joined new recruits like he had somethin to prove
Boot camp went smooth...Afghanistan got skipped and Iraq was his move

The worse that could happen? a rebel faction ambushed his small convoy
14 out of 18 died bravely, under inept orders from Cptn. John Boyd
Romey fought off the last of the guerillas...and kept the wounded safe
When the coast was clear they escaped, the nearest base...3 miles away

Just before safety...another attack!!! moments build, more deadly...dire
They survived that, but 200 ft. from base...Romey was killed by friendly fire
To Romey Adair...remembered as the bravest...a hero to all, so just face it
I tell his untold story below our pics, mounted respectfully in my basement

...the super......crhyme sindicate

damn homey. That was a messed up ending. Like the third and last stanza cought me. Shakey in some bits but somehow smooth and fluent through out. I really like this peace. If you do audio...spit shine it on wax.....8/10
