Intro

Yo yo yo yo yo. Pretty decent week this week, most people showed and the ones that didn’t were no real loss. Ambient may be the only one who could have done well but we didn’t really see much good from him before that. Mimesis beat SPuL in a hot battle which puts him into the first ever championship battle, along with Jay Cee who beat N.Tavarez in another cool battle. Also, as of next week rankings will be done.

April Event: The Revolution Begins

First ever special event for LBL and it’s shaping up to be pretty nice even though there aren’t that many battles. As I have previously mentioned, Mimesis will face Jay Cee in the first ever LBL title match, make it a classic and archivable material. SPuL will face N.Tavarez in the contendership match to have a shot at the title next week. 9th Degree is battling MC Firetruck, which will be interesting. I shall be battling Daubs in a celebrity pic battle, with myself as Wayne Rooney and Daubs as David Beckham, if Daubs wins he can request a bye week whenever he wants. And in a late added battle, Appocolyptik is going to battle Nick Fletcher in a grudge match of sorts, as apparently Fletcher talked shit to Appoc a while back and Appoc thinks Fletcher’s record is bullshit as he is a newb killer.

Battle Reviews

Mimesis (2-0) vs SPuL (2-0)

This was a hot battle with a total of 7 punches of the week in it. SPuL dropped pretty decent albeit inconsistent, he had nice bars like the dumb it down bar but then he dropped played as hell bars like flirt with whackness. His verse was decent though. Where as Mimesis dropped pretty hot, with some nice consistency and dope punches. There was nothing in his verse that was bad really, cept maybe his opener and the caens hippies bar which I didn’t even get. Succumb was a bit forced as well. But overall he had a nice verse and got this pretty easy, winning 7-1 and moving into the championship match. WTF Spul at comic sans ms font though lol, that font is awful.

Jay Cee (2-0) vs N.Tavarez (2-0)

Pretty decent battle, one sided in my opinion though. Tavarez dropped ok, but I only had him at 1 quotable which was the ballroom bar. People were quoting the crashed and died bar but I ain’t a clue who that Dana guy is. Jay Cee dropped quite nice, he had a few quotables which are in the top punches. His best was the period bar, that was fresh and dope. Jay Cee won 4-1 and goes into the championship match.

JTR (1-0) vs Chris Stylez (1-1)

JTR was late and posted a verse after Chris Stylez posted a no-show verse. I didn’t notice that Chris posted a no-show verse so I let voting go ahead and then I came back to the battle and realised that Stylez had posted a no-show verse, so I gave both the win. JTR, never be late again otherwise you will lose. The funny thing with this battle though is a vote by Kings, he voted for Chris Stylez no show verse lmao. Keep in mind that Chris had a verse with such bars as:
la di da da, blah blah blah....I seriously doubt your gonna drop
hoodie da da dee, with an end that rhymes with op or flop or drop

lmfao, Kings is a fucking idiot and I gather from voting for Chris he must have beef with JTR.

Ambient (1-0) vs Danjure S. Writer (1-0)

Ambient no-showed, Danjure won.

Rush Lingo (1-1) vs JC Real (1-1)

JC Real no-showed, Rush Lingo won.

Daubs (1-1) vs Serbness (1-1)

Daubs got this pretty easy. Serb didn’t drop anything I was really feeling. Where as Daubs had a couple of quotables and a loch ness bar which woulda been nice but apparently Mimesis used one a couple of weeks ago. But yeah Daubs got this easy and won 5-0.

Merkowitzzz (0-2) vs Trey Methodz (1-1)

Trey no-showed. Merkowitzzz won.

So Rell (1-0) vs Precize (0-0)

This was probably the battle which no one expected to be good, but was quite good. Rell dropped nice with some cool bars like the power rank bar and the belt line which was ill. Precize dropped decent and had the hells gate bar and his drive-thru line was quite decent. Precize also used Rell’s pic though and didn’t diss it very well which brought his verse down a bit. Rell won this 7-0.

Ancel (0-0) vs Rexless (0-0)

Ancel no-showed, Rexless won.

.J.Brix. (0-0) vs K.ontroveryz.Y (0-0)

I wasn’t feeling this battle at all, it made me bored reading it. Neither came very good but both have potential as they have alright wording, just weak concepts. J Brix came better though and won 3-1.

Interview with Mimesis

KempoMRK: Hey Mimesis, how's things going?

Mimesis: hey, sup. its all good and stuff.

KempoMRK: Cooly. Let's get down to it, no homo. You're in the champ battle to become THE FIRST EVER LBL CHAMPION. Yet before I talk about that, I must ask what is your view on how the league has been going so far?

Mimesis: the leagues been good. its run nicely, battles up on time. . dope mags and shit. the numbers are growing every week. . its going nicely.

KempoMRK: So as I said you're in the champ match. What did you think about your run of battles to the champ match?

Mimesis: its been straight. i battled Chris Stylez first, that turned out to be a pretty easy win. then i battled Daubs who just keeps getting better. hes pretty good and then i battled spul who beat me in '04 and champed the latest tournament. they were all good wins for me.

KempoMRK: Favourite battle of the 3?

Mimesis: spul, easily. dude beat me before, champed the last tournament on the site. i needed to win that.

KempoMRK: Nice. What do you think of your chances against Jay Cee? And what is your opinion on him as a battler?

Mimesis: i think i have as good of a chance as anybody. i have nothing but respect for him as a battler. . ive seen him on other sites, dudes dope.

KempoMRK: Is there anyone you admire or look up to in battling? On RV or other sites.

Mimesis: i dont admire anybody. that just sounds gay to me. i dont really look up to too many people either. i just have a lot of people who i have respect for.

KempoMRK: Name some.

Mimesis: hensley, allah, resin, mets, user, fracture, classick. . etc. etc.

KempoMRK: You were Daedal in the RBL league over at Rapmusic. Firstly, why the name change?

Mimesis: haha. i was Daedal at every site but rapverse. i just got sick of the name. i thought Mimesis sounded better, looked better. . just seemed to be a better name for me.

KempoMRK: Ah I see. You got to the champ match or contender match I remember, tell us what one of those it was lol and how the battle went.

Mimesis: i made it to the Contendership match. . and that shit pissed me off SO bad. because like, that week my computer crashed. i was up against nique and i couldnt even get on to post a verse. i had it all done and if i had posted i think i would have won, but i couldnt even get on. that shit annoyed the hell out of me.

KempoMRK: Haha, harsh. How come you've stayed around RV mainly, as there are bigger sites yet you seem to claim RV as your home and the place you mainly go.

Mimesis: i dont really claim RV as my home. . i just chill around there more then other sites mainly because i think the people are cooler. shits more laid back and i just like the overall environment more.

KempoMRK: Let's get into more general history shit. Favourite battle?

Mimesis: i dont remember a lot of them, but id probably say when i battled hensley. even though i lost it made me want to get better and he was the dude who told me about a lot of other sites where i could battle at.

KempoMRK: When was this and at what site?

Mimesis: it was in either late 2004 or early 2005. . and it was at a site that died by mid '05.

KempoMRK: Was that your favourite verse as well?

Mimesis: no way. my verse wasn't very good at all. i dont really have a favorite verse. i like some of my lines from almost every battle i take part in.

KempoMRK: Now on to KORV3. I won't even ask a question about it, just say whatever you want as I guess you will have something to say.

Mimesis: i thought it was bullshit that i lost. i posted the better verse, no doubt in my mind.
KempoMRK: What made you go like 88 lines against JTR lol
Mimesis: i had a lot of personals on him. . i was getting concept ideas like crazy.

KempoMRK: Did you vote in the SPuL vs JTR final?

Mimesis: yeah, but they didn't count it.

KempoMRK: Why not?

Mimesis: because i did, and still do, feel like i won. jtr was on some bullshit, i called him on it. spul said we were beefing and didnt count it.

KempoMRK: When did you start becoming prominent on RV?

Mimesis: Uhh. . I'd have to say that in 2004 when my record got up to around 20-0 (when I had it showing) people started taking notice of me and realized I was an above average battler.

KempoMRK: What caused you to improve as a battler? Did you get help from someone, write a lot or was it just naturally?
Mimesis: Nah, I never asked for help from anybody. I've never asked people if they've liked concepts before I've posted them either. I'm just a competitive person; I hate to lose. That made me want to get better. My elevation was made through experience.

KempoMRK: What tips would you give to newbies looking to improve?

Mimesis: Don't stop. Everybody takes losses when they first start, but (for me at least) experience is everything. You have to keep battling and reading battles and start to figure out what types of shit people like to read and what works in comparison to what doesn't.

KempoMRK: What were you like when you started battling?

Mimesis: Haha, in 2003 I was on RB and I was on that gangsta tip in every post, every verse, every punch. Lmao. I sucked pretty bad.

KempoMRK: What's your favourite site to battle at?

Mimesis: I don't really have a favorite site. . I like battling at RV and I've just gotten back into battling at RB. I'm in LLL and I seem to be gaining some props over there. I like battling at every site with competition though.

KempoMRK: Worst site?

Mimesis: I wouldn't battle at a site that I didn't like. .

KempoMRK: Any aliases that you've had apart from Daedal?

Mimesis: I've made a few "mock aliases" to just mess around with in LL, but other then that. . nope.

KempoMRK: What achievements have you won in battling?

Mimesis: I've won a few tournaments and did pretty good in some leagues as well. My favorite tournament win would have to be in 2004 when I was at this site that was like. . a fan site for DJ Whoo Kid, that was ran by DJ Whoo Kid. He had a section for text battling, and they had a 64 man tournament. I won and so in turn, DJ Whoo Kid sent me one of his mixtapes in the mail for free. I enjoyed that a lot.

KempoMRK: Do you do audio?

Mimesis: Haha, yeah I do sometimes. I usually just mess around with my cousin on some stuff, but I've also battled before. In the tracks where I've tried, I've won.

KempoMRK: Do you do topicals?

Mimesis: I actually started out doing topicals in 2003. . but now I haven't tried in one since like, 2004.

Mimesis: He was considered a veteran in 2004, but I always thought he was a little overrated. I'm interested in how he'll do this week. I do think his track on the first RV Mixtape was the best one though. No joke.

LBL The Revolution Begins Battles

LBL Championship Match: Jay Cee (3-0) vs Mimesis (3-0)

Ooh yeah, two dope battlers in the battle to be the first ever LBL champion. This should be dope, so everyone vote on it. And to Jay and Mimesis, make it dope enough to be archived as the first ever classic battle in the LBL. It’s quite hard to predict on this, cos Jay Cee drops different every week depending on opponent where as Mimesis just drops hard every week. Based on momentum, I’m gonna go with Mimesis. As he has won every verse of the week since the LBL has started and is just on a roll. Gonna be a very good battle.

LBL Contendership Match: N.Tavarez (2-1) vs SPuL (2-1)

Another good battle. This is for the chance to battle either Jay Cee or Mimesis next week in the champ match. I don’t think either have dropped dope as hell since they’ve been in the league but this could be the battle to shake both of them up, as I’m sure neither wants to lose 2 weeks in a row and have 2 losses on their record. I’m gonna go with SPuL in this though as he has been dropping better.

9th Degree vs MC Firetruck

Before you say anything, yes I know. But when I didn’t this battle was requested by MC Firetruck and 9th said it was ok, so fuck it. Will be interesting to see what happens here, and I think 9th Degree will win.

Appocolyptik vs Nick Fletcher

Appoc requested this and Nick accepted so both are obviously motivated to battle each other. This will be nice as Nick is nice and when I used to battle over at RapBattles I saw Appoc there as Demon Pyrokonix and he’s nice. I don’t really know who to predict for this but I do know that Appoc hasn’t battled in a while so he’ll probably be rusty, so I predict Nick to win.

I’m Wayne Rooney and Daubs is David Beckham. Both are football (Soccer to you Americans) players and you may not know who they are if you’re American. Shame that some of the personals will prob go over a lot of peoples heads. We’re going 20 lines and I expect this battle to be nice.

Normal Battles

JTR (2-0) vs Danjure S. Writer (2-0)

Danjure is ok and has potential to be nice but he just ain’t there yet, give it a few months and he’ll be pretty nice but at the moment he won’t be able to beat JTR. JTR to win this pretty easily.

So Rell (2-0) vs Rush Lingo (2-1) vs Rexless (1-0)

I’ve only read one verse from Rexless and he’s okish, so this battle will be between So Rell and Rush. Rell is nice and has been dropping nice in the league where as Rush has been rushing (no big pun) his verses and he hasn’t quite yet knocked the rust off. I think he’s busy this week as well. So for all those reasons, Rell to win.

.J.Brix. (1-0) vs Merkowitzzz (1-2)

Brix ain’t a great battler, so Merk can prob beat him with one of his quick keys. But Merk won’t vote so Brix will win.

Precize (0-1) vs K.ontroveryz.Y (0-1)

Precize lost to Rell in a pretty close battle last week, where as Kon lost to J Brix. That says it all really. Precize to win.

Serbness (1-2) vs Chris Stylez (1-2)

Should be close. Chris has potential as I’ve said before but Serb is probably more polished. Serb to win.

Wicked One (0-0) vs R-Rated (0-0)

R is coming back to battle in the league after I invited him which is cool. He’s known on RV as well so it’s cool to have a name in the league. I dunno who Wicked One is so R-Rated to win.

Billy Baghdad (0-0) vs Myth (0-0)

Eh, Billy to win.

Locutus (0-0) vs GASP (0-0)

Fuck knows, GASP is a stupid name though so Locutus to win.
