Warm, the description of the night and our feelings,
A small gasp, as he lowers and begins kneeling,
The soundtrack of the beach plays parallel to their tune,
Emotions given, letting go of his heart and letting it bloom,
A hug sprung with a simultaneous “yes”…
“Thank you, for everything” she says, as her arms are caressed,
Hands resting on her back, speeding pulse as heads lift,
A gaze into the stars followed by the touching of lips,
Hand in hand they walk down the beach, they look at their best,
A childish thump, as hearts pound nervously in their chests,
Until the day, that the bridge was burned behind him,
And she was left on the other side, practically blinded,
The fight broke out that Saturday evening, for stupid reasons,
And he screamed “I’m moving out!” but she didn’t believe him,
She never thought, he would step out of the door,
But he did, and with him, not just his furniture, but so much more,
He left with her love, abandoned at the core, she collapsed,
On the couch as time passed, the concept of divorce, she couldn’t grasp,
Her past, with men was such a blast, but she sacrificed it all,
And in return, she got a cold voice in the phone once the lawyer called,
And said he was filing for divorce, she couldn’t breathe, such a lung cut,
Crushed by the emotionless tone in the lawyers voice… she hung-up,
It was all crushed to pieces, look what he did to her heart,
It bled on the floor, as he pounced… and tore it apart,
Love is two people, carrying each others weight,
Love would not be an issue, if we discarded the feeling of hate,
Love is an hour glass, or with some people a crisscrossed basket,
But for those who can’t take it, it’s easily torn and made of plastic,
She lost his touch, and she doesn’t feel like she did to begin,
Would you believe her if she said… that she once loved him…
