First of all on major labels the new rule states artist get 8 dollars per cd album sold not including one track cds with the song, instrumental and accapella

and the rest of the money gets split between publishing, writing, studio and other shit

that is not true because most artist get 20%of all cds they sell
that means that if best buy decides to sell your cd for $10 when your usual price is 15
you only get 20% $10 but most cds sell for 15 that the average

so 15x 20% =$3 per cd but you have to take in acount coupons plus they will charge you studio time (hello why wouldnt they thats a way for them to make money ) and then there is promotion every magazine that your in aswell
all that shit u have to pay for
