lmao, if ya gettin help from these fools, you'll be sounding like Ma$e in no time... Acid Pro 4 cost 400 beans at the initial jumpoff, CoolEdit costs like 50 beans...acid is definately the 2nd best program to use, first being SoundForge 6...but im tryna figure out how to do noise redcution to...what i think u gotta do is set an envelope around the vocals u wanna edit then use any of the FX plugins...but i may be wrong...holla... oNE... |

Download sound forge 6. It has noise reduction option. Basicly it drops the highest sounds from the eq. It doesnt work that great if you have a lot of hiss. You shouldnt be getting hiss tho. I have a cheap mic that i got for free and i dont get hiss. Recording in sound forge helps a lot. But im also using an audigy 2 platinum sound card setup which has gold connectors. This makes a big difference as well.

lol you're all wrong . . .
you gotta fix the problem from the source. what you need is a better mic, and a preamp/soundcard. I used to have that problem. Reducing the hiss can work but you also lower the quality and the true sound of the vocals. I got a Samson C01 Studio Condensor mic, and it was only about 70 bucks. And there is no background sound at all. Just pure vocals . . . ahhh . . . life . . . lol . . . anyways getting a new mic wont help you unless you get a good preamp too. If you're recording into your computer you can either get an internal soundcard preamp that you install into ur computer and plug the mic and shit into the back of the comp. Or get an external one. I got a M-Audio Duo USB Audiosport. It is fuckin ill. It is a preamp and a soundcard in one. and it just plugs into the USB port in the back of my computer. I use it for my mic and recording my turntables. It is also a standalone preamp for if i wanna use it without a computer, for instance a rcording into a 4 track or somethin. Shits tight. If you have a good mic and preamp. And you know a little bit about acoustics and equalization. You can make your shit sound nice as fuck. I workin on learning how to master and shit with Wavelab. Takes a lot of hard work. Confusing too. Anyways just research shit. I spent months figuring out everything I need to get, researching sites. It helps to learn a little bit about mics and all the different kinds. Aight im rambling . . . lol peace.
