The world fights through a war, subjugated to violence and more Destruction brings on its fall, who will lead us, only few answer the call Those who rise to power, sitting atop a commanding tower The ones to make tough decisions as the planet steps to its final hour The world is torn, factions are formed, and destructive alliances are born Through the rise of enemies, leaders sit alone, roses amongst thorns People question and ask, pressuring leaders, “Are they up to the task?” Putting on a brave mask, the leaders hold futures within their grasp Day by day a decision is made, orders are given and actions are played And the leaders sit and wonder, “Is today the day I fall before the blade?” The planet slowly dies, leader’s ears pierced by the deafening cries, Leaders produce false thoughts of hope, imparting wisdom of lies They hide behind a hopeful disguise as they see the fall of the skies Soaring down upon them, the pressure of leading completes their demise They deliver stacks of commands that bring death to the lands From failure of plans the blood of the dead soaks all over their hands And still they proceed, through each choice made they continue to bleed Pouring their lives into their work, they go on and continue to lead To their future they are blind; they picture scenarios through their mind Be it good, be it bad, they know that it is their future alone to design It is left to them alone to take the world away from the pain and the strife To lead the people they dictate to their hopes of a peaceful life Even if deep down inside, they are not clouded to what lies behind The gateway to the future, a world where everything has withered and died.

A nice conscious drop by you right here...
The topic allowed you to took many approaches, yours might not have been the most original one but you managed to write an insightful piece. The vocabulary was excellent in my opinion, flow was right on as well. Strongest aspect was the sort of conscious emotion, a kind of wisdom you delivered in fact. You also used some clear pictures to describe everything but the emotion of the story and such was the best in my opinion. Keep it up
