Intro

Reasonable week. Not as many no-shows as we’ve had so things are looking alright. I did the power rankings and we have a better amount of talent at the moment as well. The special event is happening this week, I shall review that in next weeks mag, but no predictions for it as I’m not 100% certain what’s going down in it yet. Glocks held on to his title for another week, and he probably could do for this week as well as Comedians in the champ match. On to the cypher, well last weeks cypher.

Easy decision as to who won this, and that was Nick Fletcher. He dropped some nice stuff, peep it:

Battle Reviews

LBL Championship Match: 1. Roger Glocks (15-1) vs 2. Sonny Dimebags (15-6)

Not a great battle, especially for a champ match. Glocks dropped and he came ok. He had a bags bar that was tight, and a dime a dozen bar that was aight. Sonny had a free kicks bar that was fucking dope, I was really feeling it. It was the bar of the battle no doubt. But apart from that he had nothing, where as Glocks was more consistent. Roger Glocks won 8-0.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Comedian (5-0) vs 4. Rap Disciple (3-0)

Rap Disciple no-showed. Comedian won.

5. Joe Native (2-2) vs 6. Ace Heratoga (2-1)

Pretty onesided. Joe came eh, nothing really of note. He’s improving though that’s pretty clear. Ace came alright. He had a gay pride bar that was really dope. Nothing cept that really though, as I’ve seen % off concepts before. Ace Heratoga won 3-0.

7. DaTrusHurtz (15-1) vs 8. Phil Benjamin (2-0)

Decent battle. Phil surprised me by coming pretty good. A lot of his stuff was played though and that hurt him. He’s got good wording though and if he can make his concepts fresh he’ll be tight. DaTrus came ok, he had a Disney bar I liked. Bout it though. Nothing to what he can come like. But he still got this. DaTrusHurtz won 4-2.

9. Te Ora (6-3) vs 10. Chrit (4-1)

Chrit no-showed. Te Ora won.

11. MoneyMaker (1-1) vs 12. grams (1-0)

MoneyMaker dropped terrible. He’s still in the super newb faze as well, separating out his bars and the like. Grams seems to have potential, give it a couple of months and he should be good. At the moment though he’s just fairly average. Nothing he dropped was really of note, but he still easily took this. Grams won 6-0.

13. Enlightend (1-0) vs 14. Stanza (6-10)

wow enlightend is a super newb also. Stanza beat him easily. And stanza didn’t drop good. He had a nameplay that I thought was decent, but I’ve seen the same type of punch quite a lot of times before so it wasn’t top punch worthy or anything. Still, Stanza came a lot better and won 5-0. And lmfao at MoneyMaker saying people were dickriding Stanza, ahahaha.

NickJames no-showed. Sir won.

Predictions

LBL Championship Match: 1. Roger Glocks (16-1) vs 2. Comedian (6-0)

Glocks should get this. Comedian will be good in a little while, but his verses aren’t varied enough at the moment. They’re all the same type of wordplay, if he varies it then he’ll drop much better verses. But yeah, Glocks will win.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Ace Heratoga (3-1) vs 4. DaTrusHurtz (16-1)

Pretty tight battle if both drop to their potential. DaTrus only tries when he has to, and I hope he doesn’t sleep on Ace here. If he does then he’ll lose. But I don’t think he will, cos even though Ace is nice I think DaTrus is a bit better. DaTrus to win.

5. Te Ora (7-3) vs 6. grams (2-0)

Onesided battle. Grams has potential to be nice, but for the moment he’s just very average. Te Ora’s pretty tight and he’s elevating every week, so yeah, he’ll win this.

7. Stanza (7-10) vs 8. Erel Avent (11-4)

Erel’s back and he’s gonna kill Stanza in this, ‘nuff said.

9. Sonny Dimebags (15-7) vs 10. Joe Native (2-3)

Sonny’s fresh off another champ match loss, he told me that he always rushes his verses. Which is well, why he fucking loses to better people. Even if he rushes though he shouldn’t lose to Joe here. Joe’s aight, but not anything good yet.

lol Nick will like this battle. An easy one for him and it just allows him to flex really. Fletcher will win.

Hmm, I dunno about this. TEF is alright actually, and getting better weekly. Yet I haven’t read anything from blacksilence. Ima go with TEF to win though.

15. Phil Benjamin (2-1) vs 16. MoneyMaker (1-2)

Phil came decent against DaTrus last week, albeit a bit played. And he got a couple of votes also. MoneyMaker came awful and he needs to sort his style out. Phil will win this easily.

Enlightend got slaughtered by dropping really weak. Where as Untold no-showed. Yet he’s still 0-0 cos he won a cypher when he wasn’t even signed in to the league. Untold will win, easily.

Flagrant is Renegade from RapBattles and he’s pretty good. I’ve seen uncle phil at bragginwrites but have never really read his verses, so I dunno much about him really. Flagrant to win.

Double no-show most probably.

I advise Sonny to take more time on his verses.
I advise Enlightend and MoneyMaker to sort their structure out.
I advise Comedian to change up the sort of concepts he uses in his verse.
I advise Roger Glocks to increase his effort.
I advise Erel Avent to show and vote.
I advise Joe Native to pick up tips from Te Ora, as they’re from the same site.
I advise Flagrant and Uncle Phil to not fucking no-show.
I advise Stanza to read some classic battles, and changeup his style.
I advise grams to carry on writing, and to write as much as possible.

Top 8 Power Rankings

8. Untold – Fucked up by no-showing against Nick, but he asked to stay in the league so I let him. Will win his battle this week easily.

7. Sonny Dimebags - Rushes his verses to much, which has caused him to lose every champ match he’s been in. When he sits down and actually tries he’s real nice, but he hasn’t done that for a while. Will breeze through this week though.

6. Nick Fletcher – Has no rust at all really. He’ll easily beat Sir, then he’s most probably got Sonny to face before reaching the contendership battle. He’ll have to prepare for that, but he’s got what it takes to champ the league.

5. Te Ora – One of the top 3 battlers this league has ‘discovered’ as such. The first verse I saw from him a while back was really ehh, then I saw that he’d elevated, so I invited him here, then he kept on elevating. Will beat grams easily this week, then he’s got Erel to worry about.

4. Erel Avent – Back in the league after a hiatus when he lost to DaTrus a month or so back I think it was. If he shows and votes he’ll do well.

3. Ace Heratoga – I remember at Emcee Forums when I used to think this dude wasn’t really great. Then he elevated and became easily the best in that league, and then he came over here and became even better. So yeah, I rate Ace now, he’s a good battler. But he’s got a hard battle against DaTrus this week.

2. DaTrusHurtz – Held the title for quite a long time the first time he was in the league, losing to the man who’s still the champ now. Will have to beat Ace to face Glocks again though. He can do it though definitely.

1. Roger Glocks – He’s getting really complacent now I think. Dropped a pretty rushed verse it seemed against Sonny last week and still won easily. Should be able to beat Comedian pretty easily, but then the challenge will come from either DaTrus or Ace. Most probably DaTrus, in which case Glocks’ll have to drop tight to win that.
