Very Very Interesting Indeed...
It makes me think...We are not Alone.. And I hope we don't originate from mars..That'd be freaky, in itself. |

I happen to think that life is on pretty much every planet in the universe, just because it doesn't seem like something that sureal to think.
I like to think that we are one insignificant little planet on the unfashionable side of the western army of the universe. Go team.

Sorry, I mean to say "Lightning" instead of thunder... but my statement was not my own, I'm not a freaking scientist. I was just quoting what some other scientist claimed.
And remember, I said "protein strand" not bacteria.... protein strands are not alive, therefore they cannot die. But when struck by lightning, they morph into a singular celled organism. ^ im not saying i necessarily believe this - its not MY theory. |

This is my theory
Half of mars is iced over....half isnt. But in the middle is a core just like the earths core. So it must be too hot in the middle for life and too cold on half of the surface so whats in the middle......answer is Water So the chances are......in the middle there are alien whales and shit. ^^Thats the theory I agree with |

For these theories to be discussed its kind of a given that you are more inclined to believe evolutionists theories of how we came into existance, over creationist theories. That being said, we must remember that our evolution took place over millions of years.. So, any form of life discovered on Mars is exciting, whatever it is. That doesnt neccessarily mean it will affect our generation, or probably many generations to come.. but if we study our own evolutionist theories, and find even the tiniest connection between Earth billions of years ago, and Mars as it is today.. well, lets just say I wish I could live for the next million years to watch its development.
The most exciting aspect of finding 'life' on Mars, is that we may discover more answers regarding our own evolution.

My theory is that if any life actually existed on mars, it would have been just bacteria and whatnot...which makes you think, what if many years from now we send someone off to mars and they get infected with some unkown disease...that would be shitty..

life on mars? if there is any than it is the lowest level of bateria possible. the conditions r just too harsh for anything greater. there may have been more in the past when the sun was hotter and mars climate was less hostile. but i doubt it got to the point of animals.
the lighting theory is insteresting, and when you consider it you can't think of the bolt of lighting stricking one little protien chain. It's more like millions of protien chains spread out in an ocean or sea and lighting hitting the water is a catalyst for some of them to change. as far as life on earth originating from mars I believe that is pretty far fetched. however, the possibility that similar asteroids containing the same chemical make up hit both the earth and mars is not immpossible. in fact if you consider most of the material which formed planets in our solar system came from the same grouping of space debries this probably happened a lot. then again, maybe their is still some bacteria living on mars right now that's 10x deadlier than ebola and when NASA sends up a robot that can fire a rocket back towards earth it will piggyback inside and kill every living creature on earth. may sound crazy, but it would be pretty ironic if the discovery of life on another planet ended all life on the planet that found it. lol

there is a theory that life on earth did originally come from mars. how it would have happened is that a meteor struck mars, and blasted a rock with basic genetic material or bacteria off on impact. said rock then smashes into earth, bringing the nescessary stuff to us, for life to develop. as for current life on mars? people have speculated there are dormant bacteria in the martian permafrost layer, but who know's for sure. definitely not intelligent life though. any intelligent life would have died out at the same time as the planet, if any developed at all. apparently it's unlikely though that we're gonna get bacteria on the surface however because scientists claim the conditions are too inhosbitable. i don't agree with this myslef. if a scorpion can survive nuclear contamination from an atom bomb, surely bacteria can survive a bit of dodgy weather on mars? besides, saw on tv today that yeast pasrtivles can survive on the top of the rocky mountains, so i'm guessing the scientists aren't all agreeing with each other at the moment. but then, when do they agree on stuff like this?

I fount a lot of theories very interesting and it open my eyes
To more possibilities and it has me looking into other things. I am into Astronomy greatly so I will do my research. And If something is fount on Mars it would be great but damn The universe is endless hopefully I will be around long enough To see advanced technology reach for into space. |

Apparently, the lightning does hit numerous clusters of protein strands, creating "colonies" of singular celled organsims. This theory is one of many on how life on earth developed - it might have worked for Mars too.
And have you guys ever considered that life on other planets might exist in a way that is not comprehendable to us? What if Mars has some kind of life that doesnt fit into any of the lifeform categories humans know? |

Oh, and the universe might not be endless. There is on theory on the Big Bang that says the atom which exploded within itself to expand into our universe is still moving outwards, taking up more space in the infinite endess around our universe. This means that that if you hit the edge of the universe, you would pierce the border and land in infinite nothingess composed of anti-matter - meaning you would be instantly destroyed.
I've also heard that any atom which is split, explodes upon itself just like ours did. This means our whole universe could just be an atom on some other guys shirt. And that guys universe could be the same. Reminds me of the Matrix - worlds within other worlds. |
