Ok, I have an idea that may revolutionize the RV monthly awards system. It has become a problem where many people are only voting for who everyone else is voting for.

My idea is that the awards be set up kind of like battle polls.. There would be a section for people wanting to nominate themselves to give a reason (possibly a 250 character limit) as to why they should recieve this award and a section to add links to their peices/battles for that month (could possably be limited to 2 or 3 entries per month.

People would then vote in the typing area (like a battle vote) for the person who they would like to see win with an explenation. All votes would be hidden untill the competition is closed. The mods could ofcoarse delete bad votes and entries from people who they deem non-eledgable for that particular award.

There would also have to be a rule where people are only allowed to be in the running for a total of 2 awards per month to prevent shitloads of people just spamming the award forums.. Possibly this could be inforced by a system put into the code.

Also possibly small things could be added for entries and votes, like for the vet award people must have over 500 posts to post an entry or sumthing.. And also a certain amount of posts to vote.. Also a few other small things might need to be done to make this run smoothly.

What does everyone think, and more importantly admins can this be done?

i agree with this idea 100% its the only way to stop dickriding in the votes people look for whoever was already vtoed for and then vote for them... and let whoever wants to get nominated write their own little piece cuz alot of people wont do it if they know they wont win
