In the aftermath of 8-Mile a whole crop of newbies came out trying to talk shit on the internet. The respected writers on RB took what they were saying to heart and destroyed all of them, one by one. This continued until the respected heads just got bored of all the "beef" online, and went to write creative pieces in Open Mic or Poetic Scriptues. This allowed the newbies to develop their skills in writing and some of them were able to drop half decent pieces in Open Mic or whatever. The problem was, and still is, is that there are very few newbies anymore who come to the website and try to talk poorly of the respected writers. And on the odd occasion where they do talk ill of these writers; the respected heads just blow them off as if they aren't even worth their time. What made RB so good back in the day was that there was no shortage of shit-talking on the website between it's members. It allowed for interesting text battles with alot of creative personals and made for an interesting read. Eventually, RB would split into RB and RV, with a good amount of the RB members switching to this site. Eventually, this site died off and now everyone is running back to RB to grace themselves in the talent of their members, rather than trying to develop this site from within. Basically, I want people to start talking shit. Make fun of kids. Start some fake beef for the sake of interesting text battles. And don't start with that ignorant shit about how nobody cares about text anymore and that this site is pure audio now. Fuck, half the battle when it comes to audio is your ability to write. It's time to put it to use.

I always thought the site died because of the strict voting system. When they require you to write out a high school essay worthy of a B just to vote. Then you get discouraged. No voting, battles dont get decided. If they dont get decided then people stop batteling.

Open mics died because of the encouragement to switch to audio. Well thats what i beleive. If you kill open mic and push people away from voting. The site is bound to go down. This is more of a Social Community than a rap community now a days. But hey i dont mind.

what are people really doing to promote it?? u want more people to join then go around every site u can and encourage people to join. might be hard to convince anyone at first but obviously the more people there is the more fun it is. and it would help if strobe maybe updated this site and gave it some new shit. add some new shit to the text field and give the audio forum some new things too so it can encourage people to express themselves in music (what this sites supposed ta be about) instead of boring meaningless discussions

mostly when this site was alive and kicking, a majority of the people were around the age of 15. mainly just kids that didnt have jobs and still layed around the house all day when they're not at school.

people our age though is obviously gonna have a life. we got jobs to worry about and everything else but still would be alot better to visit when we are just killing time at home. and even if we do have other things ta do and we only go on once in a while, the more people there is the more likely someone else is gonna be online. right now theres just like 6 people that pretty much are all offline or online at the same time lol.

Idiot kids who come on the internet looking for rap battle forums, like us a few years ago, aren't going to go to google and search for "rap verse." They're going to search for some lame shit like "rap battles" or "mc battles" or "rap music battles."

But anyway, we're still here... As long as there's some dude making a thread complaining about how dead RV is, we can rest assured that RV isn't dead.
