Ok...i got a new mic but for some reason when i hook it up to my comp it ain't working. do i have to have different sound device settings or something

Yeah.....open up your audio settings by double clicking the volume icon at the lower left hand corner of your screen. In there you should see where it says default mic....switch it to the one you want ™

My bad....I gave you bad info.

Go to your control panel....then go to sounds, speech, and audio devices.....then to sounds and audio devices.....then you will see something pop up with a bunch of tabs at the top. Click on the Audio one and select your mic ™

If this doesn't work, check your mic connections to make sure everything is in the right spot and that it is secured entirely into it's port.

were it says sound recording? if so which one would be the one for a cheap dynamic radio shack mic, 33-3018?

Should only be like one or two different ones to choose from. Just use trial and error if you have to
