But still, you think to yourself "Yo, I got this, I can handle it,/

That's when the plans go awry/
The first time they get pinched, your ass is getting fried/
Tell you they ain't say nothin', then disappear, in the blink of an eye/
Charges laid, in and out of the courthouse, but thinking "No sweat, I'm gonna beat it"/
Those double-crossers didn't win, those cowards cheated/
Now during your time in jail, you think and plan on beef and revenge/
And deny that you regret not keeping your friends/
Denying that you lonely with no one to really trust/
All cause you thought reputation and money, was really a must/

The pitfalls of Hip Hop got 'em living the fast life/

The streets fiend, and I lived the rap life/
Now the fiend of Hip Hop got me stuck like a crack pipe/
