i was just browsing through some beat pages looking for stuff to rock on the side... dude from there was contacting me via myspace and it reminded me to go there soundclick...

scrolled down and heard the contest winners from that compo that i forgot about and didnt end up entering cause i just wasnt feeling the beats at all... but shit man... the winners of that thing really made me feel bad for underground hip hop...

lets have a look at this shit right... the winner has one of those canibus type voices that you sort of hear and you have to really try hard to look past cause its annoying and weird... and whats he rapping about? fucking nothing.. the lyrics are just cliche bragging poo.. i mean he obviously thinks quite highly of himself.... thats about all i get from hearing his tracks... his rhyming skill is fine, i mean just personally not much blows me out of the water when it comes to that anymore anyway but i heard the track and thought...........boooooooring.

number two.......it begins with the track name.......err..... 40 bars of death... real origional and creative buddy......................his vocals are better than the winner, he picked the shittest beat out of the 3.. and just talks about what he will hypothetically do to imaginary anonomous people... wow, that hasnt been done a million times at all... and he says hes gonna be in the top 5 rappers alive some day.. good luck to him... i doubt it.. track was also boring and cliche.

number 3........my favourite of the 3 beats. this guy actually does a half decent job.. hes concept is about maintaining his dignity and status and whatever so its nothing mind boggling cause it gets done quite a bit by a lot of rappers.. but out of the 3 this is easily the only one i would actually listen to. his vocals are the best, lyrically his stuff is nowhere near as openly pompus and geeked out as the other guys.. it has more of a good real emcee feel to it. this i guess is worthy of recognition as being a cool song but its not like a crazy dope single thats powerful or in any way profound and intreiging conceptually..

i think that beat contest sucked, no offence to anno domini i like a lot of beats off that page and the production is top notch most of the time there..... but i wasnt feeling the 2 top cats whatsoever.. i thought they were massive pompus try hards..

thats my two cents anyway.
