I am black history...
I was the first black civil rights leader who fought for your rights to vote.
I fought for you right to sit on the front seats of the bus.
But my eyes can see that after the fight, you're still sitting at the back of the bus.
I am black history...I fought for the right to mix the school colors
and bring together the little black children and the little white children.
I fought for the black society so that all could get educated.
But my eyes can see that out of all that,the young black folks of today
are giving up on their hopes and dreams and they are dropping out of school,
only to be called out of their names and laughed at by another race.
I am black history...
I tried to follow the way of the woman they called "Moses" who lead so many people out of slavery.
I tried to lead you out of shame.
I lost my life fighting for your rights.
Was it my time? Did I make a change?
I fought for you my african american people.
Now, what will you do? It's up to you.
Whatever it is, let it remain in the black history.
Try to follow your hopes and dreams as I did,
because I was,I am and I will always be a black historian.
