Sick. I enter my confined solitude, close the door behind me a dark and damp surrounding, in here they will not find me no light but the flickering bulb that’s hung itself from the ceiling this home is not filled with love, but its opposite feeling the floors flooded with angst, the air rich with hate it chokes me with every breath, to the point where I break I’m forced to tear my flesh to release the tension inside I use the paths of my veins, as the blades loyal guide the sound of screams resonates throughout this broken home no soul can understand me, I walk this road lost and alone I stare upon a shattered mirror, I see one not fit to live a child given life by god... that was not his to give I beg for death each day, a release from this pointless life with a single stroke I could end it all, as I pick up the knife I carve deep into the mildew stained walls... my final words "I’d see you in hell, but I’m about to leave this fucked up world" Given Light. Blinding light sears through this damned doorway of hatred A crouched figure in front of me, his presence like thread Barely existing I knew my time to shine was now or never And from the depths of my pocket I produced this letter… It told a story of a man who was down on his luck and lonely How he begged on the cobblestones of the ghetto, a sad story With tattered clothes, a dirty hide covering his bones, if only He could brush off the debris, so people could really see The real ‘he’, solid as an oak tree, brighter then the purest rupee One day he picked himself up, and wrote his autobiography It started with small things, segments and pieces of his life’s poetry And in it he weaved with utmost delicacy the quilt of security His beliefs and values mixed in, when it was done he beamed Proud of his life’s one accomplishment, depressing as it may be So his mind clicked and clanked and his heart shut him down A lifeless body now at peace and a free spirit now proud Sirens in the background, and rejuvenated man he now became A new start at life, he aimed high not for riches nor damn fame But to heavens above to please those who needed a spirit upbringing I stand in front of you, to tell you it was my corpse barely clinging Because if life holds all the keys, then be the lock it needs….
