Making Waves


An idyllic summer day, burying our feet in the white sand
Walking hand in hand, so carefree as a part of God's plan
With two little rugrats paving a path to the deep blue sea
Reminiscing of past times it used to be only you and me
But as of today, we have another sweet angel on the way
Despite what we may say, without them our life just grey
As they’re now fearlessly running in the cold ocean water
We just know we couldn’t live without both our daughters
How their smiles fill our lives with such sparkling sunshine
Jumping over the rustling waves making laughter combine
We gently lay down on the ground; I snuggle in your arms
Giving in to your charm but far away I detect vague alarms
As if bells were ringing inside my head, the noise spread
Yet I denied being aware it didn’t announce fun but dead
No need to spoil everything by so-called female intuition
But then it was as if earth became hell, black transition
As the innocent sky tore open and unleashed its beasts
People dropping to their knees, screaming for the priests
The Apocalypse has now come, the waves swallow it all
I tried to crawl back up, stand tall till I heard children call
My children…my babies…were about to be taken away
But not in front of me, not in this awful scene…not today!
I swam so quick, I grabbed her fingers but it was too late
How making of waves so cruelly transformed in final fate
I sought in the freezing water but no one was to be found
Besides many rising bodies of those souls that drowned
I realize I now have to get myself back safe and sound
But it’s hard as the sorrow and pain are holding me down
Until I feel someone swiftly picking me up and leading
Me towards the shore, an answer came to my pleading
Here I lay, soaking wet on the once pearly white beach
Asking God why he put my precious angels out of reach
