A young man named Anthony has a dilemma as follows; He must choose between living his life with the woman he loves or relocating to another branch of his bank and take the position of manager... But his window of opportunity is slowly closing... The Beginning: He slowly wakes up, The alarm clock buzzing in the distance Matting his ratty hair, He raises from the bed in an instance For the following minutes, Anthony sits wearily in his chair Getting ready for work was a dread, But he had to be there See, Anthony never missed a day of work in over a decade Yet was still a teller, It seems his career was in checkmate Through the grapevine he overheard words of a promotion And inside his body, His soul had made a roaring commotion The drive home from work seemed to make the day feel better And knowing his wife was waiting, Had him tugging his sweater But when he opened the creaking door, His sense was fear The cold air made him senseless here, He set his stare His cloudy vision didnt help, But he could feel a pressence He groped around and touched someone in a matter of seconds His wife giggled, He calmed down and took her in his arms They both felt at this point, The world could do no harm But It Does........... After their brief hellos', Anthony quietly cleared his throat to speak He told her about the promotion, And saw her knees grow weak They both knew her life was here, And moving wasnt an option "Anthony, the other branch is in Cali, Thats far away from Boston" He heard her heavy breathing, Watched her nostrils grow with air But couldnt pass-up this opportunity, "Honey, Im going there" "I understand you love this place, but i finally got my dream, And if you love me, You'll see how much this really means to me" The air seemed to get thick, The windows glazed with frost The animals ran for shelter, It looks like i have to pay the cost 6 Months Later: The wind was soothing in this blistering heat.. Anthony thought He made the decision to move away, So his love life is lost "I know i gave up my old life, But this is something new to me The only choice i had was to jump through my window of opportunity"

I'm not a fan of suicide stories because they don't present a lot of creativity, but this was ok. Kind of a basic story, kid being teased and he thinks his only way out is suicide. I kinda like the approach you took on this topic, but it could have been a lot better. Vocab didn't really suit the person to me, but the story kept me reading. Not the best I've seen, but not bad. Could beat most people on this site. 7/10 FI: Yours was a tad more creative then Atticus', but not as detailed. Your story was kind of boring, not that much suspense to me, and emotion was average. This was an ok piece, but nothing amazing or special. 6/10 Closed Atticus is the winner due to a 1-0 vote.
