"This is MY Poem"
by Switch (The Poet)

I am at a loss.
an uncapped pen left out to write,
impression my only medium... might as well print
foot on paper, big toe at the header... because what's inside
will not come out...

because I intend my comments not to leave anything up to interpretations.
but how can one compliment you, if their virtues are your vices...

and I am much the common poet, so don't expect archival advice
when reading...or skimming critiques for compliments...mine are mediocre at best.
Yeah, I will write.
using the same words, punctuations, and figurative language as the next...
repeating myself in at least 20 poems...carbon dating emotions—manifesting
atomless connections, just to prove you can make
something out of nothing.

because, THIS is MY poem.
each line weened from the runt of my thoughts,
discarded into your hands.
Play each assumption righttt

into my flush—Attitude.
because, I have dealt with people like you
my whole life, at a loss for words.
because you label, and reconsider simultaneously
know what?

Leave them.

skin cells stick to the peel—I am caged
anyway.

Not a god or mortal royalty or any form of authority,
not handsome, gifted or striving to be recognized...
Look at me.
just below average in all judgements
because I extend beyond the corner
of your eyes.

what do you not see?

convict me.
