damn didn't realize it was due today til last minutes but I keyed something and got it done


He came back from war an unintentional veteran
Lost & oblivious to the direction his life's headin' in
He was celebrated by family and childhood friends
He knew it wasn't deserved but he continued to grin
Wasn't ashamed to pretend, and hide truth within
But he knew he'd be an exposed phony in the end
But it felt good to be respected after being overlooked
Cuz he never got it being the army's fry cook
So he kept chin up and walked with good posture
The acting job he was pulling deserved an oscar
Cuz he came acroos as a respectable vet
Dressed the part, tho living off unemployment checks
He even had his wife and 3 children fooled
But he became self absorbed, an felt he ruled
But then the real veterans came home from war
This was the one day dat he hadn't planned for
What'd he say as to why he returned ahead of them
And how to respond when they made fun of him
To make matters worse their was a ceremony
To show appreciation for vets but not phonies
But how could he not go, he'd admit to lying
His heart started beating rapidly he feared he's dieing
But it was just a panic attack, how could he react?
He couldn't go cuz none of the soliders would buy his act
They would expose him for the phony he was
Cuz they all knew good and well what he really does
The thought of the embarassment, he him destroyed
This had him on a sociopath's level of paranoid
cuz he had worked so hard to appear untainted
Then his wife says "honey lets go," and he fainted
