if you really want some info, you could write about the history of the gangs in america and how they origianlly started to protect blacks from a gang called the spook hunters in los angeles who were an urbanized klan made largely in part by LAPD, and then elaborate into 3 directions they took afterwards like the black panther party and their semi-rival U.S. party, then the origins of the Cribs after the riots (later called the crips) and finally the creation of the bloods to counter the cribs and how gangs fell into the drug cartels, which brings us to today.

i could do that for my next paper, but this one is for sociology. so its just about the social activities they do. like gang initiation, gang shootings, who has control or tells who what to do, how their activies effect society and shit like that, all the social aspects of "street gang"
