Okay, so i used to emcee, and record at a blud's house...

...but then i stopped (for one reason or another)...and i now no longer 'interact' with the people i used to do my emceeing with...

...so i'm going back to basics...recording wise...

...can anyone tell me what i need to record myself onto my computer (or on the net, like on MP3.com, if that's easier)...

I got a good vocalist mic...

I need technicals people - not just "Get a soundcard", i need to know why kind of soundcard, or whatever else i need..

...(and yeah, i record on tape, on a basic recorder. but it's bust, and plus the quality of the recordiong aint too good...it's real shite when singing into it...and even my emceeing (it's kind of deep and raw) aint of good enough quality for me to elevate further...

...er, well help is appreciated...i need to re-tune...get my vocals in shape...before i start up again...

I just like... plug the mic into the computer. I got a Crystal audio HP shit sound card, and it's okay. But I'd much rather have a Sound Blaster card like my old computer. But, if your computer plays through it's speakers decently, then the sound card is okay. It is its recording prowess that should be of concern.

Be sure to download Cool Edit Pro off of Kazaa for all your recording. Beat production is something different, Fruity Loops and Acid Pro and all that can also be downloaded off of Kazaa.

Assuming of course you wanna get real basic. It's nothing like having a good studio surrounding you.
