(ice cube-was a good day inst.)
woke up early in the morning, not by the alarm besides
its from the drunks up early arguing outside
so i opened up the blinds, got up out the bed
with one thing on my mind, tryna get me some bread(money)
walked up in the shower but the hot water was off
the maintnenece man ain't come yet so i had to call
i'm mad cuz this was the 5th time
and they said again that they'll be here between 10 and 9
so i took a cold shower
went to eat but had to put water in the cereal cuz the milk went sour
it was nasty then a mug, my stomach started to roar
so i had to go outside and get me some more
so then i walked down the graffiti marked stairs
and erybody meanmuggin' tryna gimme the stare
so i laughed 'em off and went out the door
steppin' over drunks and junkies tryna get in the store
up in the store, youngins stealin' stock off the shelf
the security guard was bout as old as the block was itself
i got some milk out the freezer than rung it up
than some bamma holla'd out "this is a stick up"
so then everybody dropped to the ground
and the robber yelled out not to make another sound
then he took the gun and stuffed it in security's mouth
pulled the trigger and holla'd out, "this what a stick-up's about"
then we all walked outta the shop
and this old man outside talkin' bout he callin' the cops
cuz some joker said he was bout' to blast at 'em
"call the police!" we all yelled as we laughed at 'em
so then i went back home, made a bowl of fruit loops
came back downstairs & posted up on the stoop
and soon as i got some time alone
then walked up my young g aka lil jerome
we got up off the stoop & started walkin' down the block
and 1st thing we hear is oldheads at the bus stop
they was all over 40 and it was kinda rude
cuz they was tryna spit game to girls comin' from school(predators)
then we went further up the hill and out came shilola
she was pretty and all but was the nieghborhood's rolla
she was 18 and already had 10 kids
by 8 nuccas that all lived on the block that we did
so whenever she'd holla, she'd always ask me for a dollar
but knowin' me, i wouldn't have a thing for her to borrow
then her man a come out and i'd jab him in the face
and all the youngins on the block a holla, "put 'em in his place"
the whole hood came out to see me fight the guy
the old man must've called cuz the cops came by
we all ran back home runnin' from squallay! cuz we rebels
and that was my story of a day in the ghetto.


i know that nomatter what city or hood ur in, you gotta relate to the things in this story, its funny how some things are just universal in everyghetto worldwide but holla back, thanks...............
