Dr. Dre has donated $1 million to 50 hurricane victims.

According to World Entertainment News Network, the good doctor made his donation through the Julia C. Hester House, a Texas organization which will give $20,000 each to 50 families in need. The families were chosen after a needs assessment based on criteria established by Dre.

"I wanted to be sure that my donation went directly into the hands of hurricane victims," said Dre via a statement.

Dre is just one of many artists to give to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and Hurricane Rita. In fact, Game was considering adopting an orphaned Hurricane Katrina survivor.
