Intro

Pretty poor week this week. A lot of no-shows, and the battles that did go down weren’t tight at all. Butler continues his long ass championship reign and he’s getting verse of the week again, the thing is he didn’t even drop that dope yet he’s still dropping better than everyone else in the league. Step it up people! Next week is looking to be pretty good though, some tight battles like Butler vs Shake-Zula and Mercules vs Sonny Dimebags. Shit should be nice as long as everyone shows up and votes.

New Longest Reigning Champion

Butler is now the longest reigning champion of LBL’s history, as he has now held the title for 5 straight weeks, so props to him.

New Mod’s

Rush briefly went over this last week, but ima go over it properly. I’ve got Appocolyptik and Rush Lingo to help me out cos this league is sometimes too much for me to run alone, when I’m busy some weeks I can barely be bothered to run this league so I’ve got the both of them to help me out for those weeks. Thanks to them both and I know they’ll do a good job.

Seasonal Format

I was seriously thinking about changing this league to a seasonal format but I’ve changed my mind. There ain’t enough good leagues on the net that you can sign into at any time, so I want this to be one that you can.

The LBL Cypher For Last Week

Rush didn’t do it last week and left it to me to do, but I sorta couldn’t be bothered at the time. So now that I’m motivated I shall do both at once.

This was a pretty weak style. It was basically MarvJay, Mystic & Oz going back and forth at each other and I think they wore their creativity out as they didn’t drop all dope shit. Nick Fletcher came in with only like 3 posts and he won this straight up with some tight bars. Get at me about a win added or loss removed. Here’s his bars:

Now for this weeks cypher. The strangely named urmomsuxdixxx took this. I know he’s an alias but I’m waiting for him to change his dumb as fuck name. He came pretty tight though. I’ll add a win to his record this week. Check his bars:

Battle Reviews

LBL Championship Match: 1. Butler (11-0) vs 2. SlicKnife (8-0)

Pretty decent battle here. Butler dropped one of his weakest verses for a while, but it was still pretty tight. He had a few bars that were nice such as the screw loose, slick back and stretched punchlines bars. They were all hot. Slick dropped pretty good as well, he had a phew bar and weak spots bar that were both tight. So while this battle was reasonably close, the voting wasn’t, and Butler sweeped it 8-0.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Shake-Zula (10-2) vs 4. JTR (12-6)

JTR no-showed cos he’s apparently on holiday or something lol, shoulda signed out. Shake-Zula won.

5. Mercules (6-1) vs 6. SPuL (3-0)

This was 3-3 when I came to close it, so I had to vote on it. Here’s my vote:

This battle was aight, but I thought Merc took it. His two quotables were dope, especially the stitches one. Where as SPuL's quotable was just about a quotable. Not a bad battle though.

So yeah, decent battle and Mercules ended up winning 4-3.

7. Rush Lingo (10-5) vs 8. Ill.Eyes (2-1)

Ill.Eyes has got some really dope wording, but damn his concepts suck. He words all his concepts to pretty much perfection, but as I said, his concepts are whack which makes the lines whack. So yeah, Ill dropped and didn’t have a great verse at all, some bars were okish but most weren’t great. Rush dropped and he dropped ok, he had a fight-breakin it up bar that was tight as fuck, and an 8 out of 10 emcees bar that was also nice. He got this pretty easy though and he didn’t even try, he won 4-0.

9. Sonny Dimebags (5-2) vs 10. Marcus Aurelias (3-3)

This was a weak battle. I was expecting Sonny to drop cool after the past couple of weeks but he didn’t at all. I think he thought Marcus would no-show though, as he dropped like 2 minutes past the deadline, probably wanted to drop just before but fucked up lol. Anyway, Marcus showed and he dropped weaker lol. Nothing that was real good from either verse really. Yet Sonny still took this easy and won 4-0.

11. Malicious (2-1) vs 12. Brock Sampson (3-0)

Malicious dropped first and he had some aight concepts, but his wording is awful. Like a Sherlock Holmes bar that coulda been decent, but his wording for it was just shitty, so yeah he didn’t really have much of note. Brock dropped pretty eh to be honest, he had an off the hook bar that was quite tight. Cept that though he had nothing of note, seemed like he didn’t try though. Brock won this 13-0.

13. Nasdeey (4-4) vs 14. D.Stroyer (3-2)

D.Stroyer no-showed. Nasdeey won.

15. Precize (2-1) vs 16. Euthanize (3-3)

Precize no-showed. Euthanize won.

17. Ken `Pho (1-2) vs 18. Mystic (1-1)

Meh battle. Ken dropped pretty weak, he had a structure bar that was pretty decent but the wording fucked it up a bit. Mystic also dropped weak, he had a Ken & Barbie bar that coulda been nice, but the wording reaaaaaaaaalllllly fucked it. Ken won this 6-0.

19. MaRVJay (1-1) vs 20. LMAOffender (1-0)

Marvjay no-showed. LMAOffender won.

21. ~Test~ (1-0) vs 22. L.I. (1-0)

Weak battle. L.I. dropped first and had a test nameplay that was nice, other than that though he had nothing. Test didn’t drop anything at all though, so L.I. ended up winning this 8-0. I think LI should praps sign out of the league, then sign in under an alias for a little while to elevate. Cos for someone who’s a legend, he ain’t dropping very good and it’s ruining his legacy as such. He’s prob rusty, so yeah the alias idea would work pretty well for him.

23. Czar Bishop (1-0) vs 24. pictureperfect2 (1-0)

Czar no-showed. Pictureperfect2 won. Picture neeeeds to change his name, it makes him seem so newbish. He should just change it to PP2 or something, that’d be way better.

25. Oz. (1-0) vs 26. Wordz Ahgod (1-0)

Wasn’t really feeling this battle. Oz dropped pretty whack, had nothing of note that I was feeling. Yet Wordz didn’t have much either, but he did have the figure four bar that was mad tight, I was feeling that. Wordz got this 6-3.

27. Erel Avent (7-2) vs 28. DaTrusHurtz (4-0)

This was a decent battle. Both had a couple of tight quotables. Erel had the goin down bar and the fresh to death bar, they were both nice. Trus had the aves bar and rollin bar, the rollin bar was hot, I was really feeling that. This was 2-2 when I came to close it but Erel hadn’t voted, so DaTrus picks up the win here.

Original said that something came up so he couldn’t post, so Ima leave him in for next week. Yung Impression won.

Faime dropped mad late and I don’t think Capital wanted his verse to count as it was so late. So Capital won this. Both came pretty weak though, and Faime woulda won 1-0 if he’d of posted on time. But he didn’t, so Capital won.

43. Flash (0-0) vs 44. Binary I (0-0)

This battle was a 4 liner lol. Flash dropped alright, he had a faceplant bar that was ok and a cotton bar that was ok but a bit of a stretched concept. Binary dropped pretty whack, he had a holding hands bar that was just wtf’able lol. And a nut bar that was ok I guess. Flash won this 10-0.

45. Image (0-0) vs 46. Hell Yeah (0-0)

This battle wasn’t great, but I see potential in both these guys. Hell Yeah dropped meh, but his style is pretty decent and he has ok wording. Like his opener was a cumline but he flipped it pretty fresh. Image didn’t drop as good as Hell Yeah but he also has potential, a couple of bars he had in his verse was aight. But yeah, Hell Yeah was just better and won this 7-3.

47. Untold (3-1) vs 48. Flow Intell (0-0)

This battle was added at the last minute, cos Untold no-showed last week for his main league battle but said he wanted a battle this week. But daaayum Flow Intell came played in this, he had bank-interest concepts and bathing suit bars, stuff that was used years ago lol. Untold woulda got this easy in my eyes, but firstly the voting was quite close and secondly he didn’t vote. So Flow Intell won.

Predictions

LBL Championship Match: 1. Butler (12-0) vs 2. Shake-Zula (11-2)

A rematch from their previous battle they had, which I actually thought Shake won. This should be dope and if both drop their best it’ll be in the hall of fame no doubt. Hard to predict as Butler hasn’t had to battle anyone as dope as Shake for a few weeks now, so it’ll be interesting to see how he does against him. Shake seem to be hungry and I think he’ll want this bad, where as Butler is prob just winding down now after a monster run at the top. So I’ve got Shake taking this.

LBL Contendership Match: 3. Mercules (7-1) vs 4. Sonny Dimebags (6-2)

Merc dropped pretty nice last week and beat SPuL where as Sonny didn’t drop great and just about beat Marcus, I think it was a no-show verse though so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt. This battle could be tight if both drop good, yet I think Merc is more experienced and is a bit better than Sonny, so I’ve got Mercules winning this.

5. Brock Sampson (4-0) vs 6. Nasdeey (5-4)

This’ll be a blow out. Brock can drop real nice shit, where as Nasdeey is slowly elevating but he’s no way near on Brock’s level. Brock to win this by a hell of a lot of votes.

7. Euthanize (4-3) vs 8. Ken `Pho (2-2)

Euthanize is getting better by the week, same with Ken but Ken ain’t as good as Euth. Euth should take this fairly easily as he’s just better than Ken in most aspects of battling, so Euthanize to win this by quite a few votes.

9. SlicKnife (8-1) vs 10. SPuL (3-1)

This should be a pretty good battle if both drop to their best. Slick came off a harsh win against Butler and SPuL just lost against Mercules last week. That don’t mean much though, as Butler sonned Mercules a few weeks back. I think Slick will take this as I find him to be more creative and he has better wording than Spul. So SlicKnife to win, just.

11. LMAOffender (2-0) vs 12. L.I. (2-0)

LMAO is tight, he’s obviously an alias and it’d be good if he tells me so I can change his stupid name he has now. L.I. is a legend at this site but he’s obviously rusty as fuck, as he hasn’t been dropping good stuff for a little while now. He needs to stay battling for a consistant amount of time, as the two spells he’s had in the league have been very brief and with a large amount of time between them. LMAO should get this.

13. pictureperfect2 (2-0) vs 14. Wordz Ahgod (2-0)

As I said earlier, picture is tight but his name is stupid. Change it to PP2 or something! Wordz is elevating by the week and he sometimes has tight punches but PP2 is just way better than him. PP2 to win.

15. Yung Impression (3-1) vs 16. K.ontroverz.Y (1-3)

Kon doesn’t seem to be taking this league seriously at all at the moment, he’s laughing about his record ‘n shit and he just seems to be having fun with it. Which is fine, but he ain’t gonna win battles that way. Which is why Yung should win this easily.

17. Meters (1-1) vs 18. COM (1-0)

COM has just won the LLL’s sixth season I believe it was, so due to that you know he’s tight. Meters I ain’t read much of, so COM will flawless him here.

19. marvILLous (1-0) vs 20. Capital B (1-0)

Marv didn’t drop great last week but he’s definitely a pretty good battler. Capital didn’t drop nice last week either, but I have read nothing else of his to go off. So Marv should get this easy.

21. Flash (1-0) vs 22. Flow Intell (1-0)

Iono how to judge this really. Flash dropped 4, yes he dropped a 4 line verse, decent lines last week and Flow only got the win cos his opponent didn’t vote. Flow is being thought about for legends though which I was quite surprised about, so to up his validity for that he’s gotta start dropping some real raw shit. But as it is, he hasn’t been at all, so Flash should win this.

23. Marcus Aurelias (3-4) vs 24. Malicious (2-2)

I don’t think Malicious really cares about the league anymore, he was moaning about someone hacking his account and dropping a whack verse or something lmao. The verse was aight though, the wording was just ass. Marcus seems to care more, so he should get this.

25. Mystic (1-2) vs 26. ~Test~ (1-1)

I’ve got a feeling that Test won’t show, and Mystic’ll definitely show as he seems pretty motivated about this league at the moment. Mystic should win this.

27. Oz. (1-1) vs 28. Erel Avent (7-3)

Oz isn’t great at all, and nah he ain’t the dude who was the RBL mod in case you’re wondering. Erel is tight and he will sweep the votes here as long as he votes himself.

29. Original (2-2) vs 30. serbness (0-1)

I ain’t feeling either of the battlers in this, neither have been dropping any good stuff lately. But I think Serbness is more experienced, so I’m gonna take a guess that Serb’ll win this.

31. Faime S. Quotez (0-1) vs 32. Binary I (0-1)

Faime is aight and drops some good stuff every once in a while, but Binary is way more experienced and could probably win this if he tries. So based on ability, I’ve got Binary winning this. It could be close though.

33. Untold (3-2) vs 34. urmomsuxdixxx (1-0)

I dunno what’s up with Untold, he used to be the model professional in the league, then he no-showed a couple of weeks ago and didn’t vote last week lol. I dunno if he care’s about this anymore where as urmom seems to be relishing the challenge of being in a league again, whoever he is. Aeral is pretty decent, from what I’ve read of him he has potential to become a nice battler. But Rell has been around this league for ages, and if he didn’t no-show a couple of weeks ago, then he’d of been the only battler in the whole league who was in it from the start. Rell is better than Aeral though, so Rell will win.

37. Artistik (0-0) vs 38. T.r.oo.P (0-0)

I dunno anything about Artistik, so I’ll go for the safe option and say that Troop will win this.

39. Soliduz (0-0) vs 40. Comedian (0-0) vs 41. MCvisual (0-0)

I know nothing about any of them, but Mcvisual had the most posts which makes him the most likely to show up. Mcvisual to win.

Don’t Sleep On

pictureperfect2 – Change your name! But yeah, dude almost always drops at least two dope punchlines per verse and if he ups his consistency he will be mad ill.

urmomsuxdixxx – Stupid as fuck name, but he won the cypher for the past week and he’s an alias, so he should do well in the league.

Aeral – Has dropped some nice stuff before and he’ll definitely elevate every week in the league, so watch out for him in a few weeks.

marvILLous – One of the top heads at RapExclusive, and when he dropped over there he usually dropped some pretty nice stuff. Will be interesting to see if he can drop nice in this league though.

Erel Avent – If he gets properly motivated he could champ this league, it just seems like sometimes he half-asses and doesn’t vote or whatever. He’s nice when he does try and vote though.

Top 10 Power Rankings

10. So Rell- Has proven himself many times by getting to the champ match, but he’s always missed out on winning the title. Let’s see if he can change that this time around.

9. SPuL – Came close to beating Mercules last week but just missed out. Is an RV legend but he has yet to win the LBL title, so that should keep him motivated to drop his best every week and if he does he could win the title.

8. SlicKnife – Came pretty close to beating Butler last week even if the votes didn’t suggest it, and he’s got one of the best records in the league due to the fact he’s also one of the nicest in the league.

7. COM – Has just won the whole season of the LLL over at RapBattles so he’s definitely dope. Should be moving up the ranks of this league pretty fast as well.

6. LMAOffender – He’s been dropping nice for the weeks he’s been in the league, and I’m curious as to who he is. It doesn’t matter though as he could well get to the contendership match soon.

5. Brock Sampson – Dude has had an easy run to the number 5 ranking in the league, and it seems like he also has a pretty easy run to the champ match. He’s nice though and is deserving of moving up the league so quick.

4. Sonny Dimebags – When the dude drops to his best, he can drop some dope verses. I have no clue who he is but he must be an alias or something, cos he’s came out of no where. If he drops his best against Merc this week, he could win, but he does have to drop like he did against N.Tavarez.

3. Mercules – Lost against Butler a few weeks back, but he’s made his way up the rankings very quickly. He’s beating John Hensley in the PRBA champ match over at Project Rhyme so that shows how dope he can be when he tries. Will most probably be in the champ match next week.

2. Shake-Zula – Has the best chance of anyone to knock Butler off the top spot, quite simply because he’s the best Butler has faced since…well since Shake faced him last time in the champ match. Shake should already be a 1x champion but he lost to N.Tavarez in a battle a lot of people, myself included, thought he won. And he lost against Butler in the champ match in a battle a lot of people, myself included, thought he won. So yeah, he’s dope and could very well win the title this week.

1. Butler – He’s been practically running the league for the past 5 weeks, he must have had best verse of the week for so many weeks running it’s not even funny anymore. Someone must be able to drop a better verse than him, but no one seems to have been able to for a long time. He’s just been dropping raw for a long time, and has been THE MAN for ages. That could well continue as long as he stays motivated.
