there's only one choice.

and you can get one that'll exceed your needs for under a thousand, but if you wanna play liek you're Mr. Monopoly, get a dual processor G5

garage band is fucked up? lol that's the first time i ever heard that.

but for production programs, you can't go wrong with reason, but producing is all about what 'sound' you want, so the program you want will all rely on what you want your beats to sound like.

truth be told, the best piece of production equipment is an mpc.

btw, i been meaning to get back to your feedback to Soul. will holla tomorrow..

it depends on your personal preferences

mpc will give you any imaginable sound you want. it's all about what you put in it.

and once again, production gear/production programs are all about personal taste. is a triton better than a motif? they're both phenominal. it's just all about what you want to do.

You don't need to buy a mac... you can buy a pc for 1500... that'll work alot better than a mac... there are millions of more programs for pc than mac... it's 10x's easier to fix if you ever need to...

mpc are no where near the best piece of production equipment... what so ever... especially here in the last 3 years... LONG way away... ask Just Blaze...

the best combination as far as programs... reason rewired into fruityloops... fl has a better sound engine than reason now... reason has better sounds... fl supports vsts... which reason doesn't...

garage band is overrated... good... but overrated like the mpc.

the best pieces of gear production wise now... in order...

1. Korg Oasys...
2. Roland MC808...
3. Yamaha Motif ES8...

Darkmanner... you aren't missing out on anything with the Triton... really... it's pretty overrated... overused and completely out dated...

The Motif has better flutes... and strings... that's about it... well and the pianos sound better... more life like... not that the roland doesn't have great piano sounds... the motif sounds alot better...

Some exclusively on macs.

btw, macs don't break. period. so what could you possibly need to "fix" on a system that has no downtime?

garage band is overrated... good... but overrated like the mpc. GB definitely isn't "production software" it's built for recording and also produces. but i wouldn't all GB overrated. its named the greatest free audio program period, even better than a lot of high-buck programs, and it is far and away.

you evidently know nothing. stop passing off your half-knowledge like anything even close to fact
