don't get me wrong jay-z has sold alot of albums.......but he released 9 of them eminem just released 3 and has already passed him.

^^^oF course Eminem has........He's a house hold name that appeals to surban kids and is hyped by middle america so thats going into a market that Jay don;t have, or really care to have for the most part...Alot of people who don't even listen or like hip-hop who got a Eminem record, or didn;t start liking hip-hop until they got Eminem record....When you start selling like 7 or 8 mil...thats not all hip-hop fans that other folks....

But the flip side is Jay has a market that Em dosn;t have, and thats the streets and the the ground level respect.....which is very important in hip-hop....so when those greatest emcee list and convos come up thats why Jay is always #1 or close to it...and Eminem prolly won;t never get that type of respect no matter how many he sold.....
