Exactly! Get rid of your expectations. Why should one thing somebody says, no matter who, get in the way of your search for contentment in this world?

Strangely enough, as soon as I read that, my reaction was ,"Well damn, that sucks for you, but I still want to TRY."

Give me books to read and stuff.

Probably a dope thing for you to start off with would be the dhammapada also known as the sayings of the buddha. They are easy on the brain and cover a variety of topics. Probably they will give you a nice understanding of the world and a different perspective to the ones you have been familiar with.

You can find the dhammapada at www.zenguide.com ... I don't exactly know where on there but it's in the sutras section so look for that. You should probably read them in order, but you don't have to.

After that, you will be seeing things in a new light. From there, a good thing to do would be to read the bible, but only the parts about jesus. Jesus knows his shit, so find and read any of his parables or teachings, direct speech from him etc. You may start to notice jesus and the buddha have very similar ideas.

Anyway, if you have anymore questions just ask or whatever. And if you want more stuff to read, say so.
