Rough Times

Life is tough these days, so many hard choices to make,
Wars and crime, grimey shit going on,too much to take,
Can't handle the force fed fear through images on t.v.,
Thats all we see, trusting no one, including ourselves,
Because the anger spreads, appearing closer is the ledge,
Such an easy way out, but it happens constantly, can't deal,
People need to feel safe, but what is it? when its no where near,
The road is a long one, and there is hurt and death awaiting you,
Around every corner there is a dealer, murder, voices calling you,
To cross over, pressure is strong from peers in the threshold,
Of confused hearts and minds, lying faces twist in the cold,
Be bold,for life gets easier with age they tell us,yea,how so?,
We grow,wear the signs of our burdens like masks,when we get old,
Our war paints deep, and time continues to tick, the clock will tell,
The story of our lives,of who will go to heaven or to the depths of hell,
Life is rough, deal with it, because who knows what is next for us,
Live this day like it is your last,be strong,cus life will continue to get rough...

The streets i grew up in could be rough on days
homocides, other crimes kept kids from being able to play
people crying,people lieing,even people dieing
for actually having commen sense for life , trying
to survive,takeing care of there family
trying to be something that others say they can't be
it's sad when you have to walk to school every day
seeing bodies in the bushes at times decay'ed
its ruthless,trying to keep your head up and survive
actually careing about what happens or goes on in your life
which others dont care,because they never had a parent growing up
in group homes,not having them there when your sick or throwing up
its rough,but what can you do,its the life that some people choose
but pray everyday that its not your life or your family that you loose
but you have to live with it,and learn to move on
its crazy,your whole life and friends can change in a second
just the other day i seen my homegirl who was pregnant
and doing drugs,with no remorce on her baby
acting like other scared parents,being shady
i try not to let it faze me....
i sometimes think back to when i was just a few years older then a baby
innocent not knowing the problems that surround me
thanking god i was never abandoned,which some weird lady found me
its sounds mean,but its the truth.....

only if people knew the trouble with the youth
