^ yup. and see, and in reality i understand that. i'm actually one of the kids who gets into arguments with kids here who think their degree will get them everything and that a degree is necessary in order to live a successful life. thats not what i believe... i think my opinion about alot of this stuff might be skewed in this thread b/c of the fact that i felt like i needed to defend myself against attacks from people claiming i "don't have a life" or "am taking shitty classes," etc. etc. etc. so, in an attempt to prove them wrong i may have given the false impression that i over-interpret the necessity of a 4-year degree.

thats understandable.

but doesnt that bear similaritys to a lot of the apsectives of argumentitive behavior you were implying all the 'simpletons' on rapverse are acustomed to?

were you sinking to everyone elses level?

Blay'all 05-12-08 02:12 AM

^ in a sense, yes... i guess you're right.

but if i don't prove them wrong, then all of those "simpletons" will claim "victory" in their minds and go on living their e-lives thinking they are some kind of geniuses and have the world all figured out.

oh well, i guess you're right - the solution is just not giving a damn and saying PEACE.

exactly..

unless your into verbal jousting... but i think youll find its actually a common trait to make accusations on other people based on characteristics that you present yourself.. you notice other people doing it because youve been there and done that yourself.. gotta always keep an eye on that one.. even the best of us fall for it now and then whether people notice or not..

but in not giving a damn.. youve done the right thing dude.. so its all gravy really on chatverse.

and i wasn't "dissing" you for having a kid... i was pointing out that you considered college a waste of time because it is going to put me in debt, when you are about to have a kid that in the end is going to cost you wayyyyyyy more than my college degree is going to cost me... AND, having a child isn't an investment that in the end is going to pay itself off in career opportunities.

having a kid is a wonderful thing, don't get me wrong... i'm just saying that making the argument that i'm somehow wasting my money because i'm going to be in-debt after getting my college degree isn't a very solid argument to make when you're about to have a kid that is going to cost you MORE than my degree. better SPuL? :hump:

and "pointless ass degree that will never get you anywhere"????????????

ummmmmmmmm, okay. so you just claimed that with your (maybe, i'm not even sure) high school degree you are able to establish a solid future for you and your child working at various businesses. so, when i have that degree PLUS another one, i'm somehow not going to be able to establish that "solid" future that you have? that argument is weak, it doesn't make any sense. look, you might not realize it because you're so young, but advancing in ANY career becomes extreeeeeeeemely difficult without a college degree of some kind, it is a requirement for most advancements... ESPECIALLY in the business world.

hmmm, so if you degree isn't pointless...and is going to help you get a job, than explain how and where? N like i said before, its obvious that you haven't had a REAL job yet, becuase i know lots of smart people that aren't goign anywhere. Its all about how you allow peopel to percive you at a job and taking advantage of those good perceptions that will allow you to further progree....its always worked for me.

n if you want to say one thing about my daughter, we both know this....
