Innocence Lost

Petty imperfections ensure forgotten promises,
Sense of self is all gone, lost & anonymous.
Who wanted this? each day I take less & give more,
A common problem is overlooked until it is yours.
I only spit words, but don't disregard the inner message,
It's irrelevant as to who the winner & the best is.
Just a percentage & it seems to be misleading us slowly,
Always loyal to my friends, now it's even deceiving my homies.

It never feels clear, priorities tainted & off track,

Locked away & we've swallowed the key to the cage.
In need of a grave & i'm sure it's been seeded & paved,
Hard to maintain when i all know is bleeding & pain.
So much for seizing the day, it's slipped & I can't grasp it,
This illusion of happiness was fun while it lasted.
But it's past dead & it's pointless to win at all costs,
I'm a statistic of an instance of innocence lost
