The Da Vinci Code

For those that have read it, what are your feelings about the content? Like/Dislike? I'm just interested in how people are taking the "controversial" book.

If you haven't read it, go check it out.

But, first you may want to read Angels and Demons, as it is the prequel. Both books are by Dan Brown.

Terumoto 05-10-05 09:10 AM

I've heard a lot of good things from people I know who've read it. But i'm not much of a book person so I let it slide...

I understand that. It's hard to consider/follow/be interested in a book where you don't believe in the big things that the Catholic church preach.

But anyway, it is fairly obvious to me that Da Vinci thought one of the apostles was a woman, in the painting it is nearly impossible to interpret what the Catholic church says is John to be a man. It's clearly a woman.

yea, that book was a really good read. but I REALLY hated how they ended it. Up to the end it was fuckin' dope. couldn't put that shit down. good read fashos tho.

limited edition has.....

its good i think, if its true then it really does expose religion for the bullshit it is.

Viva 05-13-05 07:11 PM

i duno, it made me think about things but it didnt really disprove religion tho. sum of the theories were waaaaayyyy out there makin it seem like they were pickin out everything jus to be controversial, like the way the disciples are positioned at the table indicates a V shape which is sposed to represent femininity!!!!??..............Blah!

I don't think its that controversial, but then again we listen to hip hop. I'm not shure if he did in fact conceive a child with MAry, but the scriptures uncovered in Egypt may have been false. Some French guy is also reputed to have made up and planted the Priory of Scion records, listing Da Vinci and co as headmasters, so he could claim he was Jesus descendants. There is no pssible way to seperate fact from fiction now.

Lyrical Prodigy 05-15-05 02:19 AM

Nejji Bangaz 02-04-06 02:42 AM

i jus started reading it n omg its saying some of the exact same shit ive been saying since i was younger...it doesnt make sense that god would want woman, the carrier of life, to suffer and be thought of as "original sin" it all seems as a coverup....i love this book if u havent read it go see it before the movie comes out all distorted n kills the book

Mentor 02-04-06 02:34 PM

the movie National Treasure pretty much was based off of the da vinci code but yea i aint read the book yet i wanna...

Blay'all 02-04-06 02:38 PM

word, i liked it... really made me think about some shit.

i dont like it when people like try and get shit like that banned and shit because its controversial... being able to question your faith only makes it stronger... and if you cant handle challenges like that to your faith then you dont have faith.

dazy 02-06-06 01:00 AM

i heard about that book its good i hear .i heard they r coming out with a movie on the book should be good

High-Dro 02-06-06 11:47 PM

dazy 02-07-06 12:36 AM

High-Dro 02-07-06 12:46 AM

me...the movie may suck when i know the book is good

dazy 02-07-06 01:03 AM

true enough but wats with the prequel to the da ...code

distilled 02-07-06 04:46 PM

I'm not even gonna get into this argument again, but that book was Fucking ill.

Same with Angel's and Demons, they should make a film for that aswell.

Indeph 02-07-06 05:13 PM

Distilled is the devil, but ironically always tells the truth.

Nejji Bangaz 02-07-06 08:42 PM

i checked out angels n demons yesterday and that shit had like the first 30 pgs missing :bored: bum ass library

Enygma 02-07-06 11:39 PM

Word. The Da Vinci Code was a good ass read. I read that shit back in September I think. It wasn't really tring to disprove religion like some people think. It was simply stating things from a pagan perspective. I think that this book gave me a real good look into the pagan religion, which I knew nothing about. Most people think of Witches and Gypsies when they think of pagans and this world famous book talks more indepth about their relationships with mother earth and shit like that. I didn't really care for the ending though.

Angels and Demons was another great Dan Brown read. It had my ass hooked in the first chapter. That was another indepth look into religious science. Many people consider this an oxymoron, but this book showed some good examples of how both compliment each other......

Dan Brown =™™ (two thumbs up for all of you retards)

you can't make what makes this book good into a movie really

distilled 02-09-06 08:46 AM

I think It'll still be a good movie though.

Tom Hanks can definetly pull it off if anyone can.

When i saw the trailer and saw that guys mansion, it looks exactly like i pictured.

Critic 02-10-06 08:38 AM

I haven't read the book but I know a fair bit about the code,.. some parts of
